The Mets recalled Mazeika from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mazeika hit .214 in 14 at-bats with the Mets before being optioned May 31, most notably putting the ball in play for two walk-off winners. He was recalled in May to be the backup catcher while Tomas Nido was injured, so now he'll presumably be the third catcher and simply an extra bat available off the bench.

The Mets optioned Mazeika to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Mazeika had been serving as a No. 3 catcher and a reserve first baseman since his May 5 call-up, picking up only 16 plate appearances over the last three-plus weeks. He was deemed expendable with the Mets bringing back Pete Alonso (hand) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Mazeika went 1-for-3 with a home run in Sunday's loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Mazeika replaced Jeff McNeil (hamstring) but made the most of his opportunity, recording his first homer of the season while seeing more than one at-bat for the first time in 2021. That said, he shouldn't see a lot of at-bats going forward and his value should remain minimal until that situation changes.

Mazeika was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader at St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old will join the major-league roster between contests of the twin bill with Brandon Nimmo (finger) heading to the injured list. Mazeika is unlikely to see much playing time with James McCann and Tomas Nido healthy.

Mazeika was optioned to New York's alternate camp site Wednesday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mazeika failed to make an appearance during his brief time with the Mets. With Mazeika at the team's satellite camp and Tomas Nido (illness) on the shelf, Ali Sanchez will serve as Wilson Ramos' backup for the time being.

Mazeika's contract was purchased prior to Tuesday's game against the Marlins, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old backstop has never played above Double-A, where he has spent the entirety of the last two seasons. Tomas Nido was placed on the injured list for an undisclosed reason in a corresponding move, so Mazeika will serve as Wilson Ramos' backup for the time being.

Mazeika has been named to the Mets' 60-man player pool, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old has yet to play above Double-A in his career, but Mazeika's left-handed power (he slugged 16 homers in 116 games for Binghamton last season) could earn him an occasional pinch-hitting assignment if the Mets' catching depth gets tested.

Mazeika will attend spring training as a non-roster invitee, Abbey Mastracco of NJ.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mazeika started the season at High-A St. Lucie before being sent to Double-A Binghamton. He earned a promotion to Double-A by hitting .287 with seven home runs and 50 RBI in 352 at-bats for St. Lucie. Mazeika's strength lies at the plate, which could prompt a position change to first base sometime in the future.

Mazeika has hit seven home runs and stolen two bases while batting .302 this season for High-A St. Lucie.
EDGE Analysis
Mazeika is climbing up the minor league ladder, advancing a level with each passing season. So far, he has yet to show any signs of slowing down. The seven home runs are already the most he's ever hit in one season, and he's on pace to record his third straight year of hitting over .300.
