Giants manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday that Bailey (oblique) is expected to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list Thursday when first eligible, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old has been sidelined since Aug. 18 due to an oblique strain, but he'll rejoin the active roster Thursday after being sidelined for the 10-day minimum. Bailey was slumping in August prior to the injury with a .057/.089/.075 slash line in 15 games, but he'll attempt to close the month strong now that he's healthy.

Bailey (oblique) is likely to return from the 10-day injured list before the end of August, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's been no word yet on Bailey's progress after he was placed on the IL Tuesday with a right oblique strain. However, he's eligible for activation on Aug. 29 and it would appear the expectation is he will be ready by that date or shortly after. Curt Casali and Jakson Reetz are currently handling the Giants' catching duties.

The Giants placed Bailey on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right oblique strain, retroactive to Aug. 19.
EDGE Analysis
After the team initially labeled Bailey's side injury as minor tightness, an MRI revealed Tuesday that the 25-year-old catcher suffered a strained oblique. Curt Casali will now take over as the Giants' primary catcher while Bailey is out, and Jakson Reetz will come up from Triple-A Sacramento to give the team some depth behind the plate.

Bailey (side) isn't in the Giants' lineup for Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey was a late scratch from Monday's lineup due to right side tightness. While the Giants believe his injury is relatively minor, they'll send the 25-year-old backstop in for an MRI just to be safe, per Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area. In the meantime, Curt Casali will start behind the plate and bat ninth Tuesday.

Bailey (side) stated after Monday's game against the White Sox that his removal from the starting lineup was precautionary, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
This appears to be a minor issue for Bailey, and he'll continue to be labeled day-to-day until further notice. Curt Casali would likely be in line for another start behind the plate Tuesday if Bailey can't go.
