Dean earned a tough loss Thursday night, pitching eight innings and only giving up one earned run against Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
Dean has already made two starts for Triple-A Rochester this season. He has only given up three earned runs in those contests while posting a .85 WHIP and limiting opposing batters to a .180 average against him. Dean failed to make the Twins' roster out of spring training, but will look to build upon his productive 2015 season with Rochester, where he recorded a 2.82 ERA with five complete games and a 98:36 K:BB ratio during 179 innings on the mound. Dean will have the opportunity to play his way onto the Twins roster this season if he continues to pitch well.
