Santos signed a minor league contract with the Nationals on Monday, William Ladson of MLB.com reports. Santos spent 2014 in the Pirates organization, but played in only 11 games, collecting five hits in 25 at-bats. He will join the Nationals as organizational depth at catcher in 2015.

Pirates signed C Omir Santos to a minor league contract. Santos spent nearly all of last season at Triple-A with the Indians, batting just .248/.285/.354 over 61 games. He'll give the Pirates some minor league depth.

Indians sent C Omir Santos outright to Triple-A Columbus. The Indians needed to clear room on the 40-man roster in order to activate Blake Wood from the 60-day DL. Santos has been up for one game with the Tribe this season.

Indians optioned C Omir Santos to Triple-A Columbus. Carlos Santana is back in the lineup Monday following his thumb contusion, so Santos isn't needed on the roster. Yan Gomes will serve as Santana's backup until Lou Marson (neck) is ready to return from the disabled list.

Indians purchased the contract of C Omir Santos from Triple-A Columbus. Santos will serve as a backup to starting catcher Carlos Santana until Lou Marson has recovered from his neck strain.

Indians signed C Omir Santos to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Santos, who turns 32 in April, appeared in three games with the Tigers last season and batted .310/.318/.429 in 61 games at the Triple-A level between Detroit and Colorado. He'll likely serve as catching depth in the minors.

Rockies signed C Omir Santos to a minor league contract. Santos was designated for assignment by the Tigers last week and declared free agency after clearing waivers. The 31-year-old will serve as catching depth with Triple-A Colorado Springs.

C Omir Santos refused Tigers' assignment to Triple-A Toledo, declared free agency. Santos has spent the last two seasons going back and forth between Triple-A and the majors with the Tigers, and evidently he's ready to look for a new home. He's not going to see much playing time wherever he ends up.

Tigers designated C Omir Santos for assignment. The move clears a spot for catcher Bryan Holaday on the active roster. Santos was called up from the minors at the end of May and went 1-for-8 during his brief stay with the big club. There's a decent chance he'll pass through waivers unclaimed.

Tigers purchased the contract of C Omir Santos from Triple-A Toledo. Santos takes the spot of Ryan Raburn on the active roster and will serve as a third catcher behind Alex Avila and Gerald Laird. The 31-year-old owns a .656 OPS in the majors and can be ignored in fantasy leagues.
