Nyjer Morgan has signed a one-year, $1.6 million contract with Japan's Yokohama DeNA BayStars. Morgan failed to attract much interest from major league teams this offseason after batting just .239/.302/.308 in 122 games last summer for Milwaukee. He probably would have had to accept a minor league contract (and invitation to spring training) to remain in the states.
