Norichika Aoki was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup due to a sore elbow. Aoki was hit by a pitch during Friday's game and is still feeling the effects. He's considered day-to-day. Jarrod Dyson took Aoki's spot in the lineup Sunday.

Norichika Aoki went 1-for-2 with a double as the Royals were shut out by Tim Lincecum and the Giants in Cactus League play on Friday. Aoki's two-bagger was the Royals lone extra-base hit in the contest, and one of just four total hits. The 32-year-old outfielder has been remarkably consistent through his first two major league seasons, and should see increased RBI opportunities this season with the move to the American League.

Royals acquired OF Norichika Aoki from the Brewers for LHP Will Smith. Aoki is set to earn just $1.95 million in 2014 and has hit .287/.355/.399 with good speed and decent power in his first two major league seasons. He's a nice pickup for the Royals and his fantasy value should remain strong in the Kansas City lineup. Smith, 24, posted a 3.24 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 43/7 K/BB ratio in 33 1/3 innings (one start and 18 relief appearances) this past season for the Royals. Milwaukee will presumably try him as a starter.
