Ramirez (3-1) allowed three runs over three innings to take the loss Saturday against Cleveland. He gave up six hits and a walk, while striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
Ramirez had been mostly solid for the Tigers before Saturday, but he was very hittable in this one. Despite the hiccup, the 29-year-old lefty still has a strong 3.00 ERA and should continue to pitch in a long-relief role in a Detroit bullpen that doesn't have a ton of established options.

Ramirez (3-0) picked up the win Wednesday against the Royals after tossing two scoreless innings with one hit, two walks and a pair of strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander came into the sixth inning with the score tied at 2-2 and kept Kansas City's bats quiet enough for Detroit to take the lead for good on a sacrifice fly from Brandon Dixon. Through nine appearances in relief this season, Ramierez owns a 2.25 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 24:11 K:BB.

Ramirez (3-0) tossed two scoreless innings and earned the win Wednesday against the Royals. He allowed a hit and two walks while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit starter Daniel Norris departed after five innings and the score tied 2-2, and Ramirez came in and pitched well in the close game. The 29-year-old earned win No. 3 when the Tigers scored one in the top of the eighth inning. Ramirez has a nice 2.25 ERA in a long-relief role for Detroit, and with the Tigers looking for all the pitching they can get, he figures to maintain a prominent spot in the bullpen.

Ramirez (2-0) picked up the win Saturday against the Twins, tossing three innings of one-run ball. He allowed three hits and three walks, while also striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit used Buck Farmer as an opener for the first two innings, then turned to Ramirez as their bulk pitcher Saturday. The 29-year-old allowed plenty of baserunners in his three innings of work, but he was able to limit the damage to just the lone run, and his offensive mates backed him up with nine runs of their own. Ramirez now has a 2.45 ERA through 22 innings, and he should remain in a long-relief role for the Tigers.

Ramirez struck out five over three perfect innings in long relief to capture his first career win Wednesday in the Tigers' 4-2 victory over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Despite only converting to pitching two years ago after stalling out as a first-base prospect in the Brewers system, Ramirez has emerged as a force out of the Detroit bullpen in his initial MLB action. Through five long-relief appearances, Ramirez has compiled a 2.81 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB in 16 innings. In order to maintain success for the long haul, however, Ramirez will likely need to do a better job of reining in the long ball, as he's already surrendered three home runs. That could be an ongoing struggle for a pitcher with a flyball tilt who typically works in the high 80s-to-low 90s.

Ramirez could cover multiple innings in relief behind Gregory Soto in Sunday's game against the Athletics, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Soto and Ramirez worked in tandem Wednesday against the Astros, with the former covering two frames and the latter pitching four. Since both pitchers will only be on three days' rest Sunday, a similar tag-team approach may be on the docket again. That said, Ramirez was pitching on three days' rest versus Houston and still tossed 77 pitches, perhaps making him a better bet than Soto to cover the most innings for Detroit. Looking ahead, the Tigers are expected to have two openings in the rotation for the foreseeable future with Jordan Zimmermann (elbow) and Tyson Ross (elbow) facing uncertain return timelines, so both Soto and Ramirez could pick up starts next week.

Ramirez tossed four innings of one-run relief work in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Twins, an 8-3 Tigers loss. He allowed six hits and a walk, while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Ramirez came on in the fifth inning for an ineffective Gregory Soto, who was also making his MLB debut. The 29-year-old righty reliever mostly stayed out of trouble except for a Marwin Gonzalez solo home run in the sixth inning. Ramirez should remain in a low-leverage role for the Tigers, though it appears he's capable of giving the team multiple innings when needed.

Ramirez had his contract selected from Triple-A Toledo by the White Sox on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Ramirez joined Detroit on a minor-league deal in December and is added to the 40-man roster after posting a 2.31 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 30:5 K:BB across 23.1 innings between Double-A and Triple-A. The 29-year-old should slot into a low-leverage role as he is set to make his major-league debut.

Ramirez is beginning to transition from first base to pitcher during the Brewers Instructional League, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
After spending three years at the Double-A level with declining offensive production, it appears the Brewers would like to try Ramirez out as a reliever in order to keep him in the organization. The 27-year-old did act as the closer while he was at Cal State-Fullerton, converting 16 saves in his final collegiate season to go with a stellar 1.13 ERA and 11.6 K/9. Those stats did come from 2011, however, so he may need a bit of time to get accustomed to pitching to professional hitters. That being said, left-handed relievers with that kind of strikeout ability are hard to come by, so if the 27-year-old can get back into the same groove he was in during his final season in college, he could finally manage to move past Double-A.

Ramirez has a .253/.324/.462 line after playing in 34 games at Double-A Biloxi.
EDGE Analysis
The start of the 2016 campaign marked Ramirez's third straight season playing at the Double-A level. In that time, he's reduced his number of strikeouts and steadily increased his batting average from .231. Even though his game has gotten better, the 26 year-old lefty will likely have to continue waiting for the opportunity to test his skills at Triple-A Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs' roster currently has two talented first basemen in Jake Elmore and Andy Wilkins, who are posting batting averages of .329 and .254 respectively.
