Martini is out of the lineup against the Tigers on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Martini will take a seat following five straight starts with left-hander Blaine Hardy on the mound for Detroit. Ramon Laureano will make his major-league debut in center field while batting ninth in the order.

Martini went 1-for-3 with two walks and a run in a win over Blue Jays on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Martini has now logged four straight starts in the outfield, and he's proving to be an ideal leadoff hitter in the process. The 28-year-old has a pair of multi-hit efforts during that stretch while also drawing a pair of walks and scoring three runs. Martini finished July with an outstanding .394 average across 42 plate appearances, and his success has relegated fellow outfielder Dustin Fowler to the bench for the time being.

Martini, who went 2-for-5 with a double and a run in a loss to the Rockies on Saturday while drawing his first start in center field, has earned additional playing time in the mind of manager Bob Melvin, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports. "We wanted to get Nick's bat in the lineup," Melvin said. "Not a ton of experience in center field, but we're just trying to get the right complement on a particular day, and he's had a nice run swinging the bat."
EDGE Analysis
Martini now has three two-hit efforts in his last three starts, pushing his average to .455 over the 29 plate appearances since rejoining the big-league club from Triple-A Nashville on July 7 following Matt Joyce's placement on the disabled list with a lumbar strain. The 28-year-old drew his first start in center field Saturday in place of Dustin Fowler, who's hitting just .180 over his last 17 games. The hot streak is simply an extension of what Martini was accomplishing with the Sounds, where he'd put together a jaw-dropping streak of 65 straight games reaching safely before his callup. "As long as he's swinging like this, we're going to look to get him in there," Melvin said.

Martini went 2-for-2 with an RBI triple, a walk and two runs in a win over the Rangers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
After delivering a pair of hits subsequent to entering the game in a pinch-hit capacity Wednesday, Martini started and led off Thursday. He was just as productive, extending his torrid stretch at the plate with a fourth-inning three-bagger that plated Dustin Fowler and snapped a 3-3 tie. Factoring in Thursday's production, Martini is 8-for-16 with three doubles, the aforementioned triple, five RBI, four walks and five runs during his current big-league stint. However, given that manager Bob Melvin has confirmed he'll deploy Khris Davis in right field during this weekend's interleague series against the Rockies at Coors Field, Martini may find himself limited to pinch-hit duty during the three-game set.

Martini entered Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Rangers as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI, one which came from being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. He also scored once.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old has been highly productive in limited opportunity during his current big-league stint, as he's now 6-for-13 with three doubles, four RBI and three runs in July. Martini's playing time remains sporadic, however, limiting his fantasy value to a potential DFS tournament play for the time being.

Martini went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Thursday's win over the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Hitting out of the leadoff spot, Martini rewarded his manager's confidence by picking up three hits and playing an integral part in the A's win over the division leaders. Despite the strong outing Thursday, it's still tough to envision Martini carving out a regular role in Oakland's crowded outfield rotation, at least while that position group is overall.

Martini was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday, Julian McWilliams of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martini will take the place on Matt Joyce, who was placed on the DL with a lumbar strain prior to Saturday's contest. Across 72 games with Nashville, he's hit .308/.412/.437. He will provide a little extra depth in the outfield for Oakland.

Martini was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The A's needed to clear a roster spot for Monday's starter, Edwin Jackson. He got a hit in his lone at-bat during this brief two-game stint with the big-league club. Martini will continue to serve as organizational depth.

Martini was called up from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Martini has appeared in just three games for the Athletics this season, going 0-for-9 in his brief opportunity at the big-league level. He's been far more productive in Triple-A, slashing .365/.426/.529 with 13 RBI over his past 20 games. He will provide added outfield depth for Oakland during his second cup of coffee with the club.

Martini was sent down to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
