Martini will be called up by the Athletics on Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The A's need another outfielder with Ramon Laureano out with a shin injury. Martini has appeared in just a single big-league game this season but hit .296/.397/.414 in 55 games for Oakland last season. It's not yet clear how often he'll find himself in the lineup.

Martini was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Martini was up for just one day, going 0-for-2 at the plate and pitching a scoreless inning in a blowout loss. He'll head back to the minors with pitcher Tanner Anderson recalled in a corresponding move.

Martini, who was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, went 0-for-2 after entering a loss to the Astros as a defensive replacement in the bottom of the fourth inning. He also fired a scoreless ninth inning, allowing two walks and recording a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday, Martini was donning an Aviators uniform and playing a full game against Salt Lake. Approximately 24 hours later, the 29-year-old outfielder was doing a little bit of everything at Minute Maid Park, making his 2019 big-league debut a rather eventful one. Martini's stay with the big-league club may only last through later in the week when Brett Anderson (finger) comes off the paternity list, and it remains to be seen if he'll draw any starts in the outfield over the remaining two games against the Astros on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Athletics recalled Martini from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martini may only be in line for an abbreviated stay with the big club after the team had an extra spot available on the active roster with pitcher Brett Anderson (finger) landing on the paternity list. The outfielder is slashing an impressive .343/.443/.467 at Triple-A this season, but it's expected he'll fill a reserve role for the duration of his time with Oakland.

Martini is slashing .344/.445/.476 with 13 doubles, four home runs, 33 RBI, 34 walks and 35 runs across 229 plate appearances with Triple-A Las Vegas this season.
EDGE Analysis
Martini is taking full advantage of the hitter-friendly conditions in the Pacific Coast League, generating what qualify as career-best numbers when factoring out a couple of professional stops where he's logged under 100 plate appearances. The 29-year-old finally got a big-league shot last season and acquitted himself very well, slashing .296/.397/.414 across 179 plate appearances over 55 games. Martini has limited power, however, and he's now of advanced age as far as minor-league prospects are concerned. Tellingly, Martini has remained with the Aviators even with Stephen Piscotty (knee) on the injured list, and it remains to be seen if he'll be rewarded with a promotion at some point this season.

The Athletics activated Martini (knee) off the injured list Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Las Vegas, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martini's extensive stay on the injured list, which dated back to March 19, stemmed from a Feb. 26 collision with an outfield wall back in spring camp. The 28-year-old hit an impressive .302 with 10 RBI over 12 minor-league rehab games and will now look to make his mark with the Aviators. Martini slashed a solid .296/.397/.414 across 179 plate appearances in 2018 with the Athletics, so a promotion at some point this season is certainly possible.

Martini (knee) is 5-for-18 with five RBI, three walks and three runs over his last five games with Triple-A Las Vegas.
EDGE Analysis
Martini has driven in a run in each of those contests and has hit .300 over 10 rehab games overall. The 28-year-old is likely physically ready for activation at this point, but it remains to be seen exactly when the Athletics will opt to pull the trigger on the move.

Martini (knee) has gone 4-for-12 with three walks, one strikeout and three RBI in four rehab games with Triple-A Las Vegas.
EDGE Analysis
Martini started in left field and led off Monday against Tacoma. He singled in three trips before being removed prior to the start of the eighth inning. The A's will probably want to see him log several full games in the field before they consider reinstating Martini to the big-league roster.

Martini (knee/back) is set to run the bases Tuesday, Jake Crouse of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a long road back for Martini, who originally injured his knee back in late February. If all goes well with Tuesday's activity, Martini is expected to embark on a rehab assignment shortly thereafter.

Martini (knee) took batting practice for the second straight day Tuesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martini is working his way back from a knee sprain he suffered when crashing into the outfield wall in late February. He's close to getting into game action but will need to complete more baserunning drills first.
