Eovaldi (12-8) allowed four hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings Sunday, striking out five and earning a win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi escaped a bases-loaded jam in the first inning but didn't face much danger otherwise. He had been tagged for 14 runs over 16.2 innings in his previous three outings before closing out his 2024 season with a terrific outing Sunday. It was the fourth time this season he threw at least seven innings without allowing a run. Eovaldi finishes the season with a 3.80 ERA and a 166:42 K:BB through 170.2 innings. He's finished each of the five seasons with an ERA between 3.63 and 3.87.

Eovaldi did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Athletics, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out seven in seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
The Athletics plated a pair of runs against Eovaldi in the first, another in the third and then scratched across one more in the sixth stemming from an error earlier in the inning. Eovaldi only allowed four hits, two of which came in the first inning, and his seven strikeouts were his second most in eight starts since Aug. 10. Eovaldi is now winless in his last three starts and holds a 7.56 ERA over that span. For the year, he holds a 3.96 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 161:41 K:BB in 163.2 innings and lines up to face the Angels over the weekend in his final start of the year.

Eovaldi allowed seven runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
The two teams traded rallies in the contest -- Eovaldi was tagged for four runs in the fifth inning just after the Rangers had established a lead. This was one of Eovaldi's worst performances of the year, as the seven runs and 11 hits allowed were both season highs. His ERA is up to 3.96 with a 1.13 WHIP and 154:38 K:BB through 156.2 innings over 27 starts. He posted four straight quality starts from Aug. 17 to Sept. 4, but he's struggled in two straight outings. He'll look to get back on track in his next projected start, which is expected to be in Oakland with the Rangers seemingly shifting to a six-man rotation to close out the campaign.

Eovaldi (11-8) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings to take the loss versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi gave up back-to-back home runs to Joc Pederson and Christian Walker in the first inning, and Walker got to him for a two-run blast in the third as well. This was the first time in six starts that Eovaldi had given up multiple homers, something he's done just five times this season. His three-start winning streak came to an end, and he now has a 3.67 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 150:36 K:BB through 152 innings over 26 starts this season. Eovaldi's next start is projected to be at home versus the Blue Jays, as the Rangers will build in some rest for their starters with the returns of Jacob deGrom (elbow) and Max Scherzer (shoulder) during this weekend's four-game series versus the Mariners.

Eovaldi (11-7) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six over seven innings to earn the win Wednesday over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi was able to limit the damage to a two-run home run by Juan Soto in the fifth inning. This was Eovaldi's fourth straight quality start, and he's allowed nine runs (eight earned) across 27 innings while striking 27 in that span. He now has a 3.55 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 144:35 K:BB through 147 innings over 25 starts this season. Eovaldi is projected to make his next start at Arizona.

Eovaldi (10-7) pitched seven scoreless innings in Thurday's win over the White Sox. He gave one hit, two walks and struck out 10.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi made easy work of the White Sox again on Thursday. It was his second time striking out 10 batters this season, each of those starts being against the White Sox. It was Eovaldi's second career start of seven or more scoreless innings with double-digit strikeouts. The 34-year-old has won back-to-back starts after a streak of three straight losses, and he now has 10 or more wins in three of his last four seasons.

Eovaldi (9-7) yielded three runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out five and earning a win over the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi coughed up a run in each of the second, third and fourth innings but came out on top due to the Rangers' four-run second frame. He snapped his three-start losing streak and picked up his first win since July 29. Through 16 starts, he owned an impressive 2.97 ERA over 94 innings. In seven outings since, he's produced a 5.77 ERA despite a strong 36:4 K:BB over 39 frames. Eovaldi will carry a 3.79 ERA into his next matchup, which is projected to be on the road against the White Sox.

Eovaldi (8-7) allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out six batters over seven-plus innings to take the loss against Minnesota on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi didn't give up a run until Trevor Larnach tagged him for a solo homer in the fourth frame. The right-handed hurler cruised through the next three innings without giving up another score and carried a 2-1 lead into the eighth. However, Eovaldi allowed three straight singles in that frame before being pulled with the bases loaded and no outs. All three baserunners then came around to score after his departure. It was a tough finish for Eovaldi, who was hit with his third straight loss. During that span, he's allowed 12 runs (11 earned) over 15 frames despite a strong 17:3 K:BB.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Eovaldi (oblique) will make his next start Saturday against the Twins, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi suffered a low-grade right oblique strain during his most recent start Saturday, but he was able to throw a bullpen session Wednesday without any problems. Now seemingly past his injury, he'll receive a few extra days of rest before returning to the Rangers' rotation, and he'll match up against a Twins offense that ranks fourth in the AL with a .755 OPS.

Eovaldi was diagnosed with a low-grade right oblique strain Monday and is expected to have his next start pushed back to the Rangers' four-game series with the Twins this weekend, Jim Bowden of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being pulled from his latest start this past Saturday against the Yankees with what the Rangers described as right side tightness, Eovaldi was sent back to Texas to meet with Dr. Keith Meister. Eovaldi received encouraging results from his MRI, and the Rangers are apparently optimistic that he will avoid a trip to the injured list and be able to pitch through the oblique strain. While the right-hander doesn't sound like he'll be an option to take the hill for Thursday's series opener versus Minnesota on his usual four days' rest, but he could be plugged back into the rotation at some point Friday through Sunday. The Rangers will likely wait for Eovaldi to complete a bullpen session later this week before locking him in for his next start.
