Straw (ankle) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Straw and Jonatan Clase (knee) had been operating in a platoon in center field of late while Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is on the shelf, but neither will start Wednesday after both exited in the fifth inning of Tuesday's 5-4 win with injuries. Straw was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain after colliding with the outfield wall while making a defensive play Tuesday, but manager John Schneider expressed optimism Wednesday that the 30-year-old will avoid a trip to the injured list and will be good to go after a day off or two, per Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca. George Springer will step in as the Blue Jays' center fielder Wednesday while both Straw and Clase are on the bench.

Straw was removed from Tuesday's game versus Arizona due to a sprained right ankle.
EDGE Analysis
Straw entered the game in the fifth inning to replace Jonatan Clase (knee), but the former was forced out of the game immediately after crashing into the wall later in the frame. The severity of his injury remains unknown, but the Blue Jays should have some more information on his short-term availability in the near future.

Straw is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Straw will hit the bench after he had started four straight games while going 2-for-13 with an RBI and a run. The last three of his starts came against left-handed pitching, and he looks set to fill the short side of a platoon in center field with Jonatan Clase until Daulton Varsho (hamstring) comes off the injured list.

Straw went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 9-1 win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Straw opened the scoring with an RBI double in the second inning and followed with a two-run single in the third. While the 30-year-old hasn't offered much offensive value over his career, he should continue to see regular playing time with Daulton Varsho (hamstring) sidelined. On the season, he's hitting .286 with one homer, 13 RBI, 17 runs scored and five steals across 114 plate appearances.

Straw will likely split playing time in center field with Nathan Lukes after Daulton Varsho (hamstring) was placed on the injured list Sunday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While he doesn't offer the same offensive upside as Varsho, Straw has the best glove of the Blue Jays' remaining options in center. While Varsho missed the first month of the season recovering from shoulder surgery, Straw hit .326 (14-for-43) over 21 games with one home run, two steals, three RBI and eight runs. According to Matheson, manager John Schneider suggested that the Blue Jays could go with a loose platoon in center field of Lukes and Straw while Varsho is out, though the right-handed-hitting Straw could see some starts versus righties if Lukes is used in a corner-outfield spot.

Straw went 2-for-3 with a steal, two walks, two RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 11-7 win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Straw put the Blue Jays on the board in the second inning on an RBI single and came around to score in the same frame. He added an RBI double in the third and proceeded to come home twice more, and his three runs scored matched a career high. Straw has slashed .277/.306/.319 with two steals and seven RBI in 51 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

Straw will start in center field and bat eighth in Thursday's game against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
With George Springer receiving the day off and Daulton Varsho serving as Toronto's designated hitter while Anthony Santander (hip) takes a seat, the Blue Jays will have room in the outfield for Straw in the series finale. Straw will be getting his first start since last Thursday after logging just three at-bats off the bench over the Blue Jays' subsequent five games.

Straw will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Straw will pick up his fourth straight start while the Blue Jays remain short on alternatives in center field with Daulton Varsho (shoulder) on the injured list, Nathan Lukes (personal) on the paternity list and George Springer day-to-day with a wrist injury. To his credit, Straw has capitalized on the opportunities he's received this season, slashing .379/.419/.552 with one home run and one stolen base in 32 plate appearances. Straw's strong play might be enough for him to stick around on the big-league roster as a depth outfielder ahead of Lukes -- who has a minor-league option remaining -- once Varsho is cleared to make his 2025 debut with Toronto.

Straw went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's loss to Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Getting a start in center field and batting seventh, Straw got hold of a sixth-inning fastball from Grant Holmes and drove it over the fence in center field. It was Straw's first homer in the majors since 2023, and only the seventh of his career. The 30-year-old speedster has taken advantage of his opportunity in Toronto, batting .385 (10-for-26) with a steal, three RBI and five runs in 12 games, but it's not clear if there will be a spot for him on the 26-man roster once Daulton Varsho (shoulder) is ready to come off the IL.

Straw went 3-for-4 with two doubles an a run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Straw made his second start in center field Wednesday and logged his first hit of the season when he doubled off MacKenzie Gore in the second inning. Straw logged his second double in the sixth frame and proceeded to cross home plate two batters later on a fielder's choice. He'll maintain his spot on the Blue Jays' roster as a reserve outfielder for as long as Daulton Varsho (shoulder) is on the injured list.
