As we enter the final stretch for drafting it is time to take a look at the latest iteration of points leagues rankings from our amazing hard working rankings staff. Starting with the outfield is always fun because there is so much depth at the position, especially if you only require three of them, as many points leagues do. However, even if your league has switched to five outfielders there is still a lot of value, both within the top-60 at the position and below.Points leagues are always toug[...]

Mitch Haniger Punishes First Home Run rotoballer.com Thu 3/21/19 10:04 AM
Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger took Marco Estrada deep in the third inning of Thursday's game in Tokyo. He also added a double and a walk as he finished the day going 2-for-4. Haniger appears to be picking up where he left off in 2018 after he polished off a breakout year batting .285 with 26 HR. The 28-year-old is a safe bet in all formats to post stellar numbers this season as long as he stays on the field.
Harris Yudin's Bold Predictions for 2019 rotoballer.com Wed 3/20/19 6:30 AM
Despite whiffing on more than half, my 2018 predictions were highlighted by the claim that Christian Yelich would return first-round value. I was also justifiably optimistic about Matt Chapmans breakout and Khris Davis impending title of Home Run King. So, I figured, the best plan of attack for 2019 was to use the same template for some of those accurate predictions: ___ returns first-round value, ___ leads the Majors in home runs and ___ is a top-10 *insert position.*Beyond that, I ran with a f[...]

When and How Do You Target Sleepers on Draft Day? rotoballer.com Sun 3/10/19 4:45 PM
If you're the type of fantasy baseball enthusiast who enjoys the preparation as much as the draft itself, chances are you've been filing away names as potential under-the-radar breakout candidates. Maybe you've got your eye on a young utility player who is one injury away from regular playing time (not that anyone should be rooting for injuries). Maybe you're intrigued by that underrated hitter who changed teams in the winter and figures to put up better numbers in his new lineup. Maybe you noti[...]
Mitch Haniger Works In Intrasquad Game rotoballer.com Fri 3/8/19 12:32 AM
Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) took part in an intrasquad game in camp on Thursday and expects to be back in the lineup by this weekend after missing Cactus League action with a strained lower back. He went 2-for-4 with a double on Thursday, which is a great sign. Haniger broke out in 2018, hitting .285/.366/.493 with 26 home runs and 93 RBI and should hit in the middle of the order this season. He's a top-25 fantasy outfielder and makes for a solid second or third outfielder [...]
Mitch Haniger Still Out With Back Tightness rotoballer.com Tue 3/5/19 10:08 AM
After the Seattle Mariners scratched outfielderMitch Haniger(back) in Sunday's game, the team held him out again in Tuesday's contest. Haniger said he "tweaked" his back weight-lifting on the weekend and will play it safe over the next few days. It appears this is a precautionary measure, but the Mariners start their season on March 20 in Japan, so the 28-year-old can't afford any setbacks. This situation is worth monitoring over the next few days to make sure he's back on track for this series.
Outfielders Who'll Continue to Break Out in 2019 rotoballer.com Thu 3/7/19 3:45 PM
"The rookie phenom" is almost a cliche at this point in fantasy baseball. Every year there are at least a few absolute studs that break out--think Ronald Acuna, Juan Soto, Kris Bryant, those types. The A1 prospects who follow through on their pedigree. It's not all that difficult to predict that they'll likely keep up their momentum as they blossom into the next generation of baseball superstars.[...]
