Shortstop - The Under-Appreciated Glamour Boys of '19 rotoballer.com Fri 4/19/19 8:30 AM
Shortstop has long been a position comprised of the nobles and the bastards. People would flock towards the highborn and turn a frigidly cold shoulder to anyone else. Fantasy managers were basically elitists in the purest definition of the word in regard to shortstops. It is time to start spreading the love and realize that regular shortstops are performing well enough to garner your attention. No one is saying to avoid the upper-echelon, just to broaden your perspective. The elite still exists i[...]
Mitch Haniger Scratched With Illness rotoballer.com Wed 4/17/19 4:05 PM
Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger was scratched from the lineup on Wednesday with an illness. Mallex Smith is in center field and is hitting leadoff against Indians starter Carlos Carrasco. Haniger has been very solid so far this year after breaking out in 2018, so hopefully he only misses this one game. Smith is hitting just .219 (14-for-64) with a homer, five RBI, 12 runs and six stolen bases, but he's never a bad daily pick at the top of Seattle's order.
Mitch Haniger Slugs Fourth Homer rotoballer.com Sun 4/14/19 12:10 AM
Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger went 1-for-4 with a home run in Saturday's contest versus the Houston Astros. He took Justin Verlander deep to center field in the fourth inning on a night where the veteran was dominating the M's lineup. It was Haniger's fourth long ball on the season and his 14th RBI, as he's off to a superb start to 2019, batting a crisp .278. Haniger is living up to his preseason cost, and it looks like a repeat of his breakout 2018 is assured.

The 28-year-old has played in all 12 of his club's games thus far, hitting .255 with a pair of home runs and nine RBI thus far. With right field void Tuesday, the Mariners will slot Jay Bruce into the position, and he'll bat third against the right-hander. Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger sent a rocket to straightaway center field for his second home run of the young season. The shot was of the two-run variety, as he's off to a hot start, batting .282 with seven RBI over the team's first nine games. Haniger had a career year in 2018, batting .285 with 26 home runs and 93 RBI, and he is well on his way to repeating those numbers this season. His immediate future also looks bright, as he'll face Lucas Giolito and Ivan Nova this weekend, bot[...]
Mitch Haniger Batting Leadoff Against Red Sox rotoballer.com Thu 3/28/19 2:43 PM
Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger is starting in right field and batting leadoff in Thursday's home opener against Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale. Haniger is one of Seattle's best hitters, but batting leadoff will take away precious RBI opportunities. He's 0-for-5 in his career against Sale, but he should be a lineup lock in season-long leagues every day that he's playing.
