MLB Closers and Saves Report - Week 15 rotoballer.com Fri 7/6/18 3:45 AM
LeBron to the Dodgers? Yellow card and an early exit for Mike Trout? It was an eventful week in sports, but not so much in baseball, and even less in the bullpens. One closer hit the disabled list while another came off, and a West Coast committee started to clear up a bit.
With the trade deadline approaching, this week seemed very much like the calm before the storm. We heard about teams interested in acquiring some bullpen pieces, but haven't had any deals materialize just yet outside of th[...]
Statcast Hitter Risers/Fallers - xwOBA w/RISP (Week 14) rotoballer.com Mon 7/2/18 4:00 AM
Statcast is a fun tool, at least if you love stats. If you didn't, you wouldn't be reading this, nor would you spend hours poring through the waiver wire or farm system reports in search of the next big thing to hit the majors. Only baseball brings that kind of unbridled passion for a past-time (sorry NFL folk, but it's true). [...]
Mike Trout Expected Back in the Outfield Friday rotoballer.com Thu 6/28/18 1:13 PM
The Los Angeles Angels are hoping that outfielder Mike Trout (finger) will be able to play centerfield on Friday against Baltimore. Trout has been suffering from a sprained right index finger, although it has not kept him out of the lineup as he has been acting as the designated hitter for about a week. Still, a return to the outfield would indicate that Trout is back to 100%.

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (finger) played catch on Tuesday and said his finger felt much better. It is still day-to-day when he will return to the field. Mike Trout Hoping to Return to the Outfield Soon rotoballer.com Mon 6/25/18 4:29 PM
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (finger) will test his finger out by throwing in the next day or two. He has served as the designated hitter for the last five games after spraining his right index finger. Trout is only 3-for-15 as the DH and is itching to get back into the field. Fantasy owners should continue to deploy him as usual, and the superstar can be expected back in the field in short order. As long as he's still in the lineup, he should continue to be in your fantasy starting [...]
Trading Up: Mike Trout rotoballer.com Mon 6/25/18 8:00 AM
It is universally understood among fantasy managers that Mike Trout is the best player in baseball. There was some speculation about Trout versus Mookie Betts earlier this year, and a few articles before the 2017 season about Betts or Jose Altuve as alternative number one picks.
Many analysts offer the guidance that you never want to trade away the best player in a deal. Since Mike Trout is the best player in baseball, managers should never trade him away. That position is probably too extrem[...]
Matt Koch Loses In Rough Outing rotoballer.com Wed 6/20/18 6:04 AM
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Matt Koch (5-4) took the loss on Tuesday night, giving up five runs on seven hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings against the Angels. Koch was pitching well until the fifth inning, where he hit two batters and allowed a three run single off the bat of Mike Trout. Koch has now allowed multiple home runs in three consecutive starts, and has surrendered five runs in three of his last five. He also failed to strike out a batter for the third time this season. After a [...]
Mike Trout In Tuesday's Lineup rotoballer.com Tue 6/12/18 2:38 PM
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (shin) is back in the lineup on Tuesday, batting second and playing center field. Trout had an X-ray on his shin after fouling a ball off of it during Monday's game. The results came back negative, and it sounds like Trout is 100 percent healthy and ready to go. Keep him in your starting lineups.
