Mike Moustakas Stretches Hit Streak To 12 rotoballer.com Sat 4/21/18 9:34 AM

Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas continues to be one of the few bright spots on an otherwise bad team. In Friday's double-header, Moustakas homered in the first game and singled in the second game to extend his hit streak to 12 games. The homer was Moose's fifth of the season, and he's now raised his season triple slash to .333/.359/.986. Owners shouldn't expect him to hit safely forever, but this is an excellent start to the season for the third baseman.

The Cut List (Week 3): Time to Let Go? rotoballer.com Sun 4/15/18 3:15 AM

Well, we're three weeks into the season and the picture is starting to clear up. Players who started off the year cold are heating up (Andrew Benintendi, Mike Moustakas, Steve Pearce) while guys like Josh Harrison and Nick Ahmed are slowly regressing to the mean. We can start confidently making add/drop decisions, but don't expect to see the names of bonafide studs on these cuts lists. My add/drop philosophy is simple: cut average players on cold streaks and hold your studs. The advice of[...]

Mike Moustakas Homers In Second Game Of Spring rotoballer.com Sun 3/18/18 7:59 PM

There was some concern amongst the Kansas City Royals staff that third baseman Mike Moustakas may not get his timing back with his shortened spring session, but homering in his second game helped allay some of those fears. Obviously, spring is spring and the results aren't a guarantee to carry over, but everyone would always rather see good results than bad. Moustakas is returning for a one-year deal after a rough offseason that found him without an acceptable long-term deal anywhere. Expect him[...]

Mike Moustakas Could See Time At First Base rotoballer.com Sun 3/11/18 8:49 AM

Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost said he could give third baseman Mike Moustakas a look at first base in spring training. It would be another way to get infielder Cheslor Cuthbert some playing time. It's an interesting proposition, as Moose would be more valuable to fantasy owners if he added first base eligibility, but it seems unlikely. Moustakas had no market in free agency despite hitting a career-high 38 home runs for the Royals in 2017. He'll remain a solid fantasy third baseman, but it[...]

Reports have Moustakas signing a one year pact with the Royals, seemingly allowing him to show that his 38 home run season in 2017 was not a fluke. The White Sox were also said to be interested in Moose, but it looks like he will return to Kansas City.
