Leake (wrist) tossed a 29-pitch bullpen session Friday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leake, who was diagnosed with a fracture of his left, non-throwing wrist, participated in the session without wearing a glove. He's hopeful to be ready in time for the start of the season; however, manager Torey Lovullo tells a different story. "I'm not going to totally eliminate that thought," Lovullo said, "but as I explained to him I'm not going to put him in a situation where he's going to go out there and potentially hurt himself and take a step backwards. I have to make 100 percent certain he's going to be able to go out there and execute and not get injured." Leake suffered the injury during the offseason when he slipped and fell at home.

Leake said Thursday that a recent MRI revealed that he's dealing with a fractured left wrist, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. He expects to be sidelined for two weeks before he resumes pitching in spring training.
EDGE Analysis
Leake fractured the wrist during a fall at home over the offseason, but fortunately for the 32-year-old, the injury was to his non-pitching arm. As a result, he'll face a shorter-term recovery from the injury, though his two-week shutdown will put him behind his fellow starting pitchers early in the spring. Since he'll still be able to throw while he waits for the bone to heal enough for him to resume fielding drills later this month or in early March, Leake is optimistic he'll have enough time to build up to a starter's workload before Opening Day arrives.

Leake underwent a precautionary MRI on his sore left wrist Wednesday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury is to Leake's non-pitching wrist and occurred due to a fall at home. Regardless of the seriousness of the injury, Leake isn't a lock to open the season in the Diamondbacks' rotation, as he'd have to beat out one of Madison Bumgarner, Robbie Ray, Zac Gallen, Merrill Kelly or Luke Weaver to earn a spot.

Leake allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Leake was long gone by the time this game was settled in the 19th inning, when the Diamondbacks pushed across the game-winning run. Prior to that, Leake was on the hook after giving up a leadoff home run to Dexter Fowler, but the Diamondbacks tied it in the ninth. It was the sixth straight quality start for Leake, whose tenure with Arizona got off to a rocky start. He had an 8.02 ERA in the first four starts after being acquired from the Mariners. Since then, the right-hander has posted a 2.33 ERA during his six-start streak of quality outings. He is not scheduled to pitch again in 2019 but is expected to be part of the rotation next season.

Leake (12-11) earned the win Wednesday after holding the Marlins to three runs on eight hits with four strikeouts across 6.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Leake continued his streak of serving up home runs, allowing two this time, and six across his last four starts. Otherwise, the 31-year-old right-hander turned in a quality start, pitching into the seventh inning for the 14th time the season. Leake will carry a 4.67 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 124:25 K:BB into a Tuesday start against the Cardinals.

Leake (11-11) was charged with the loss Friday against the Reds, surrendering four runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out five across six innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was hurt by the long ball this time, giving up a pair of two-run homers to Joey Votto and Josh VanMeter. Unfortunately, the homer to VanMeter came after a costly throwing error by Brian O'Grady in the fifth inning, which proved to be the difference maker of the game. Either way, Leake fell just shy of posting a quality start and issued a rare free pass as the Diamondbacks dropped their sixth straight contest. The 31-year-old now owns a 5.51 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 120:25 K:BB and will look to bounce back during an advantageous matchup against Miami on Wednesday.

Leake gave up two runs on seven hits and zero walks while striking out three in 6.1 innings Sunday in Cincinnati. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Leake threw 100 pitches (67 strikes) and left with the lead, but Arizona's bullpen coughed up a pair of runs, resulting in the Diamondbacks losing 4-3. His next start will come Friday against this same Reds lineup, only this time it will be a home game for the D-backs.

Leake (11-10) allowed four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out one through 6.1 innings to earn the win over the Padres on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Leake pitched five scoreless innings before allowing four runs in the sixth inning. This was a bit of step in the right direction for Leake, who had a 6.59 ERA entering the game since the trade deadline. The 31-year-old has a 4.71 ERA and 112 strikeouts through 28 starts this season. Leake is scheduled to make his next start Sunday against the Reds at Great American Ball Park.

Leake set aside 20 of 22 batters faced during one stretch Tuesday after the Diamondbacks abandoned a defensive shift strategy, Richard Morin of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leake, who earned his first win as a member of the Diamondbacks while lasting 7.1 innings, and manager Torey Lovullo talked about changing the defensive positioning after the Giants produced a first-inning run with two singles that would have been outs against a normal defensive alignment. "We listened to the pitcher and some adjustments he said needed to be made, and we followed through," said the manager. Leake throws a lot of strikes and allows a lot of batted balls as a result, and the adjustment following the first inning was beneficial to the veteran right-hander's effectiveness Tuesday.

Leake (1-2) took the win against San Francisco on Tuesday, pitching 7.1 innings and giving up two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Leake surrendered a first-inning run on a pair of singles and a hit batsman but held the Giants scoreless over the next six frames before departing in the eighth following a one-out walk. The Arizona bullpen allowed the runner to score but held on the rest of the way to help Leake earn his first victory in five starts since joining the Diamondbacks. The 31-year-old has pitched five or more innings in each of his outings with Arizona but holds a 6.59 ERA over 28.2 frames. He'll look to build on Tuesday's victory when he faces San Diego on Monday in his next scheduled start.
