Moniak has now compiled multiple hits in three straight games and in five of his six contests in August. During the latter stretch, he's slashing .440/.440/.640 with a home run, two doubles, five runs and three RBI. Moniak has shown in the past that he can get hot, but he's also gone through numerous cold stretches -- in fact, prior to his strong start to August, he finished July with a .188 batting average across his final 10 games. Overall, Moniak hasn't been much of a fantasy asset with a .226/.265/.355 slash line, seven homers, 34 RBI, 35 runs and six steals through 313 plate appearances.

Moniak went deep in the fifth inning off Joey Estes to even the game at 2-2. It was just his second home run since June 25 and his sixth on the year. His bat has been trending in a positive direction in July compared to the rest of the season, as he's slashing .273/.289/.500 with two homers, six RBI and eight runs scored while only striking out at a 17.8 percent clip. Overall, it has been a struggle for Moniak on the year. He has a .209/.255/.340 slash line with 29 RBI, 29 runs and a 14:70 BB:K in 259 plate appearances.

Moniak gave the Angels a 4-1 lead with his three-run homer in the bottom of the second and later added a single, giving him his second multi-hit effort in his last three games. Over that brief stretch he's batting .333 (4-for-12) with two extra-base hits, five RBI and three runs scored. However, Moniak's average on the season still sits at .198 following Wednesday's performance, and he's batting .222 in July (6-for-27). The home run was his fifth of the campaign and his first since his grand slam against Oakland on June 25.
