According to Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com, the players' union has filed a grievance against the Phillies on behalf of Michael Schwimer. Schwimer believes he was sent to the minors this past season while injured and apparently wants to be compensated for the salary he would have made if he was on the disabled list at the major league level. Michael Schwimer has reported to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Schwimmer had refused to report previously because he thought he should have been placed on the DL with an elbow injury rather than being demoted. He received a second opinion, and although the results haven't been revealed, he presumably has been given a clean bill of health.

Michael Schwimer received a second opinion on his right elbow in California. Schwimer expressed frustration after being optioned to the minors last week and believed he should have been placed on the disabled list instead. However, he is expected to report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, so it's fair to assume he was cleared of any injury.
