Michael Morse (forearm) is not in the Nationals' lineup Tuesday evening against the Cubs. Morse is still dealing with a contusion on his left forearm, the result of being struck by a pitch Saturday. The Nats can't say for sure when he might return to action.

Michael Morse (forearm) is being held out of Monday's starting lineup against the Cubs. Nats manager Davey Johnson told reporters that X-rays showed a "hairline fracture" in Morse's forearm but an MRI then ruled that out. He was struck by a pitch on Saturday and remains day-to-day with a contusion.

Michael Morse went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 4-2 win over the Orioles on Saturday afternoon. His two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth put the Nationals ahead for good. Morse now has 13 homers on the year while his 42 RBI represents a new career-high. The Nationals have strung together eight consecutive wins and sit just one game under .500 (35-36) for the season.
