Kopech (1-1) took the loss Wednesday as the Tigers tamed the White Sox 10-2, coughing up seven runs on nine hits -- including four home runs -- and a walk over 3.1 innings while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie was catching far too much of the plate on the night, and in total six of Detroit's nine hits went for extra bases. Chalk it up as a learning experience for Kopech, who still has a strong 15:2 K:BB through his first 14.1 big-league innings. He'll next take the mound Tuesday in Kansas City.

Kopech did not factor into the decision Friday when he allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one over three scoreless innings in a 6-1 win over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
For the second time in three starts, the young right-hander was forced to leave a start due to rain. Kopech was wild to start the night, hitting Mookie Betts with his first pitch and issuing a four-pitch walk to Andrew Benintendi, but settled in after picking off Betts. Kopech is next scheduled to pitch Wednesday at home against the Tigers.

Kopech (1-0) allowed one run on seven hits while striking out four across six innings as he notched the victory Sunday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
In just his second career start, Kopech produced an impressive outing, as he managed to surrender just one run despite a fair amount of traffic on the bases. Although the sample size is small, Kopech has found success in the big leagues so far, allowing just one run on 10 hits while fanning eight over eight frames. The 22-year-old will face a tough Boston lineup his next time through the rotation, as he's slated to pitch Friday.

Kopech, who made his major-league debut Tuesday, will next start Sunday against the Tigers, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Chicago was abuzz Tuesday for Kopech's debut, but many were disappointed that a 52-minute rain delay ended the flame-throwing right-hander's night after just two innings. He was pleased to throw all of his pitches for strikes and was most happy to be able to spot his changeup, a major final hurdle in his development at Triple-A Charlotte. "That I was able to throw the changeup with good command, good action and have them swing over it was probably the highlight of my night," Kopech said.

Kopech struck out four in two scoreless innings Tuesday against the Twins, issuing three hits and no walks.
EDGE Analysis
Kopech made his MLB debut Tuesday, throwing 52 pitches (35 strikes) in the start while allowing no extra-base hits and hitting a batter. Kopech came advertised as a strikeout pitcher -- having struck out 170 batters in 126.1 innings playing for Triple-A Charlotte this year -- and he delivered on that front in the short outing. The 22-year-old went 7-7 with a 3.70 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP in 24 starts for the minor-league club prior to his promotion, and he figures to remain with the White Sox pitching staff for the remainder of the year.

Kopech was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday to start against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Kopech was summoned from the minors ahead of his highly-anticipated big-league debut. The flamethrowing 22-year-old compiled a 3.70 ERA and 170:60 K:BB across 24 starts (126.1 innings) with the Knights prior to earning a promotion. Kopech has struggled with his command at times, but he's shown improvement over his last seven starts, walking just four while striking out 59. Even if his ERA and WHIP aren't stellar in his first go around with the White Sox, he has the potential to provide a serious strikeout boost to fantasy owners over the stretch run.

Kopech will make his major-league debut Tuesday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Kopech, part of the package which sent Chris Sale to the Red Sox prior to the 2017 season, has long been seen as a flamethrower whose command may hold him back from reaching his frontline starter ceiling. A quick glance at his season line suggests that's still the case, as his walk rate sits at a worryingly high 11.1 percent in 24 starts for Triple-A Charlotte. He hasn't walked a single batter in his last three starts, however, and has walked a total of just four in his last seven, striking out 59 over that stretch. He has the potential to provide a major strikeout boost to fantasy owners down the stretch, even if his ERA and WHIP are mediocre.

Kopech pitched seven scoreless innings and didn't walk a batter while striking out nine Saturday for Triple-A Charlotte.
EDGE Analysis
This was the third time in the last four starts that Kopech hasn't issued a free pass. Going back further, the right-hander has walked just four over his last six starts, spanning 38 innings. Command of his fastball, leading to a high walk rate, has been one major reason cited for keeping Kopech in the minors, but this most recent stretch suggests the time is right to bring him up to Chicago.

Kopech allowed two runs on eight hits while striking out nine with no walks over seven innings for Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Kopech has commanded much better of late, walking just four batters over his last 31 innings, which has allowed him to get deeper into games. White Sox player development director Chris Getz told Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune that Kopech has grown confident in his changeup while adding there's a chance his callup "happens very soon."

Kopech allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings for Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The White Sox have been patient with Kopech, their top pitching prospect who has battled command issues all season. However, the organization might be tempted to being the right-hander up to Chicago. He's whittled more than a run off his ERA over the last eight starts, a stretch in which Kopech has a 2.66 ERA, and he's walked just four batters over his last 24 innings, a vast improvement on his 5.1 BB/9 in 2018.
