Indians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti said Tuesday that Brantley (shoulder) is without a timetable for a return, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "There's nothing new," Antonetti said. "We've tried to be transparent with it. We don't have a definitive timetable. We need to work off Michael and how he responds to activities. We'll continue to do that."
EDGE Analysis
Antonetti echoed manager Terry Francona's sentiment from Monday; basically that Brantley has had no setbacks in his recovery, and the team isn't sure when he'll be back. A Yahoo Sports report from Monday suggested there is "serious concern" within the organization that Brantley could miss significant time. Antonetti said it's not the team's expectation that Brantley will miss a big part of the season. "But we don't have crystal ball," he added.

Manager Terry Francona was non-committal when asked about an earlier report that Brantley (shoulder) could miss a significant amount of time, MLB.com reports. "We've been really forthright in saying that the timetable is on him getting better," Francona said. "Absolutely there's been no setbacks. Nothing's changed."
EDGE Analysis
The Indians have taken a cautious approach with Brantley and he's just recently started to work in some light swinging in his recovery but there's never been a firm timetable for a return. It doesn't sound like he's experienced a setback but there's still a lot of uncertainty around his recovery progress.

The Indians are hopeful that Brantley (shoulder) will be able to ramp up his rehab work soon, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "He'll take some dry swings today and might do some tee work depending on how he feels," said manager Terry Francona. "We haven't been real aggressive with this. We wanted to let this anti-inflammatory shot really do its work. Now we'll start to ramp him up. Like we said all along, we want him to get better and stay better. So we've been a little bit cautious the first nine or 10 days back into it."
EDGE Analysis
The Indians figure to proceed with caution to make sure Brantley's able to avoid any further setbacks once he's back in the lineup but he doesn't appear to be near an imminent return given his current status.

Brantley (shoulder) may not resume swinging a bat until next week and remains without a firm return date, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brantley received and anti-inflammatory injection during a checkup Tuesday and the Indians figure to give him 5-7 days to let it calm down before resuming hitting activities which would seem to put his earliest return date of May 26 in serious jeopardy.

Brantley (shoulder) received an anti-inflammatory injection for his subacromial impingement Tuesday. The Indians announced that there is no timetable for his return.
EDGE Analysis
The star outfielder was placed on the 15-day disabled list over the weekend after aggravating the same shoulder injury that forced him to start the year on the DL. He met with Dr. Craig Morgan on Tuesday and he received an injection to reduce inflammation in the area, but there is still no word on when Brantley will be able to resume baseball activities. In his absence, Jose Ramirez will likely see most of the playing time in left field for the Indians.
