Meyer (shoulder) threw live batting practice Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Meyer's 2024 season ended in early September due to right shoulder bursitis, but it appears he is entering camp this spring without any restrictions. Assuming good health, the young right-hander should have a leg up for one of the spots in the Marlins' rotation. Meyer posted a 5.68 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 46:19 K:BB through 57 innings in 2024.

The Marlins placed Meyer on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right shoulder bursitis, retroactive to Sept. 4.
EDGE Analysis
Meyer was originally slated to make his next start Sunday against Philadelphia. However, his move to the IL will keep him sidelined for multiple turns through the rotation, meaning the 25-year-old righty likely only has one or two starts left in the season, even in a best-case scenario. The Marlins have yet to name a replacement for Meyer in their starting rotation.

Meyer will be placed on the injured list Saturday, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear what the injury is, but Meyer will no longer start Sunday against the Phillies. Even if his stay on the injured list is for the minimum term, Meyer will likely be able to make only one or two more starts this season.

Meyer (3-5) took the loss Tuesday against the Nationals, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Four of the five runs charged to Meyer came via the home-run ball. The right-hander gave up a three-run blast to Joey Gallo in the fourth inning before Keibert Ruiz added a solo shot in the sixth. The long ball has been an issue for Meyer of late -- he's now given up seven in his last four outings (20.2 innings). Overall, the 25-year-old Meyer sports a 5.68 ERA through 57 innings this year with a 1.42 WHIP and 46:19 K:BB. He's currently slated for a tough home matchup with the Phillies this weekend in his next start.

Meyer (3-4) took the loss against Colorado on Wednesday, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Meyer went 1-2-3 through the opening frame before allowing the leadoff man to reach in each of the next two innings, leading to two runs coming home for Colorado -- though only one of those runs would be charged to him on account of a fielding error by Cristian Pache. Meyer would also go on to surrender a solo homer in the fifth and was later relieved by Kent Emanuel in the sixth after failing to retire the first two batters. On a positive note, the 25-year-old Meyer generated 18 whiffs in the contest while logging his second-highest strikeout total this month. However, Meyer has now lost four of his six starts in August, posting a 7.42 ERA over that stretch. He's also coughed up at least one homer in three straight outings.

Meyer allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Meyer looked good, registering his first quality start since April 13. The 25-year-old had struggled since being called up July 27, pitching to an 8.10 ERA and allowing four or more runs in his last four games prior to Friday. Meyer will not be facing an innings restriction the rest of the way and should be given plenty of opportunity to find his footing.

Meyer (3-3) took the loss Saturday, giving up four runs on six hits and three walks over four innings as the Marlins fell 4-0 to the Mets. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
While the Miami offense gave the rookie right-hander no support, Meyer created his own problems by throwing only 49 of 90 pitches for strikes and having poor command within the strike zone -- four of the six hits he served up went for extra bases, including solo shots by Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso. In five outings since returning to the big-league rotation in late July, Meyer has stumbled to an 8.10 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB through 23.1 innings, but the Marlins will let him work through his growing pains. The 25-year-old lines up to make his next start at home next weekend against the Cubs.

Meyer (3-2) picked up the win Sunday against San Diego, allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks across 6.1 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Meyer retired the first nine batters he faced Sunday and kept the Padres scoreless until the fifth inning. However, the 25-year-old yielded an extra-base hit and at least one run in each of his final three frames, resulting in his third consecutive start with at least three earned runs. On a more positive note, Meyer didn't allow a homer after allowing five long balls in his previous three outings. Through 36.1 innings, Meyer has a 5.20 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP and a 30:9 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Mets for his next start.

Meyer (2-2) took the loss Tuesday against Cincinnati, allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
It was a tough night for Meyer, who allowed runs in both the second and third innings before the Reds put up a four spot in the fourth. After allowing just four earned runs in his first three starts (17 innings) in April, Meyer has struggled to a 9.00 ERA in three outings since rejoining the Marlins rotation in late July. Overall, the 25-year-old southpaw sports a 5.10 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and 26:9 K:BB across 30 innings in the majors this season. Meyer will look to get on track in his next start, currently lined up for this weekend at home versus the Padres.

Meyer (2-1) allowed four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against Atlanta on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
All four runs Meyer allowed came via the long ball, as Austin Riley and Orlando Arcia each hit a solo shot against him and Matt Olson contributed a two-run blast. While he did flash some swing-and-miss stuff with 13 whiffs and seven punchouts, the young right-hander was unable to avoid his first loss of the campaign. Meyer has struggled since returning to Miami's rotation July 27, allowing seven runs and serving up four homers over nine innings across two starts.
