Fried did not factor into the decision in Friday's loss to the Orioles, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out seven in six innings. He did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Fried faced a bases-loaded situation in the first inning, but he was able to limit the damage to a two-run single from former Yankee Gary Sanchez. Fried proceeded to retire 13 of the next 15 batters before yielding another run in the sixth, but the 31-year-old southpaw still managed to come away with his 12th quality start of the season. He has struck out at least seven batters in five of his last seven outings, and his 2.05 ERA and 0.96 WHIP (across 101 innings) rank third and eighth, respectively, among qualified starters in the majors this season. Fried is slated to make his next start on the road against the Reds next week.

Fried (9-2) yielded two runs on six hits and two walks over seven frames Sunday, striking out nine and taking a loss against Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Fried coughed up a run in the first inning before Rafael Devers belted a solo shot in the fifth. Unfortunately for Fried, he was outdueled by Brayan Bello (seven scoreless innings) and the Yankees were shut out. Fried tossed 72 of 106 pitches for strikes and generated 15 whiffs. He's sporting a terrific 1.89 ERA with a 90:20 K:BB through 95 frames. He's turned in three straight quality starts after coughing up six runs against the Dodgers on May 30. Fried's next matchup is expected to be at home against the Orioles.

Fried (9-1) picked up the win Tuesday against Kansas City, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks with four strikeouts across seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Fried furthered himself from his six-run start May 30, tossing a second consecutive quality start since the rough outing. The 31-year-old has completed at least seven innings in six of his 14 starts this season, as Tuesday's outing marked his fourth start with no walks allowed. On the year, Fried boasts a 1.84 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and an 81:18 K:BB over 88 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to close out the two-start week with an outing in Boston on Sunday.

Fried (7-1) allowed six runs on eight hits and struck out three without walking a batter over five-plus innings Friday, taking the loss versus the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Fried entered the sixth inning up 5-2, but he yielded a second solo home run to Shohei Ohtani and wasn't able to recover. Jonathan Loaisiga and Tim Hill failed to stop the bleeding, and the Yankees didn't muster a response later in the game, leaving Fried with an ugly first loss of the campaign. This is the second time he's given up six runs this year, but the first was in his season debut, and only two of them were earned in that outing. Despite Friday's performance, Fried still has a 1.92 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 70:16 K:BB through 75 innings over 12 starts this season. The southpaw will look to get back on track at home versus the Guardians next week.

Fried (7-0) earned the win against the Rockies on Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out seven across 7.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Fried needed only 83 pitches (57 strikes) to work his way into the eighth inning, generating 12 whiffs and inducing 10 ground balls in the process. It was Fried's first win since May 2 against the Rays, and the 31-year-old southpaw hasn't lost a regular-season game in his last 13 starts. He hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start this season, and his 1.29 ERA (across 70 innings) is best in the majors. EDGE Analysis
Fried's excellent start to 2025 continued Sunday, as he notched his seventh quality start in his last eight appearances while allowing no extra-base hits. The 31-year-old has yet to allow more than two earned runs in a start this season and has punched out eight or more hitters in three outings. Fried didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Seattle after allowing one run on four hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Fried wasn't very efficient, throwing just 57 of his 91 pitches for strikes, and Tuesday marked just the third time this year that he didn't hurl at least six innings. Even so, the star left-hander has worked at least five innings while giving up one run or less in seven of his last eight outings. Fried boasts a 1.11 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 52:13 K:BB over 56.2 innings ahead of his next scheduled outing versus the Rangers, who have a dismal .623 OPS against left-handed pitching through their first 42 games.

Fried allowed one run on five hits while striking out eight batters over seven innings but did not factor into the decision against the Padres on Wednesday. He did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Fried's lone blemish came in the fourth inning, when he yielded a solo homer to Jackson Merrill, but it was overall another outstanding performance by the 31-year-old southpaw, generating 11 whiffs while tossing 100 pitches (67 strikes). Fried has recorded six-straight quality starts and hasn't given up more than two earned runs across his eight starts this season. He leads the American League with a 1.05 ERA, while his 0.91 WHIP ranks fourth among qualified starters in the AL. Fried is slated to make his next start on the road against the Mariners next week.
