Rays manager Kevin Cash said Wisler (finger) will likely be reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday or Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wisler looks poised to rejoin the Rays for the first time since mid-August after he checked out fine following his second rehab appearance at Triple-A Durham on Sunday, when he struck out the side over his lone inning of work. The 28-year-old should immediately slot back into a high-leverage relief role for the Rays once formally reinstated.

Wisler (finger) fired a scoreless sixth inning in Triple-A Durham's loss to Jacksonville on Sunday, allowing a hit and recording three strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Wisler threw 19 pitches (13 strikes) in the impressive appearance, which came in what was a significant bump up in competition for the right-hander. Wisler had tossed a perfect frame for the Rays' rookie-level Florida Complex League squad Monday, and given his strong form Sunday at the highest level of the minors, he could be deemed ready for activation during the three-game set against the Red Sox that begins Monday.

Wisler (finger) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday before facing hitters Sunday at the Rays' spring facility in Port Charlotte, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
After striking out the side in scoreless inning during his rehab appearance Monday in the rookie-level Florida Complex League, Wisler appeared to be a candidate to return from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, when the Rays' roster expanded from 26 to 28 men. Evidently, the Rays felt Wisler needed some more time to work back from the hand issue, so he'll remain on the shelf through at least the end of the week. If all goes well in Sunday's throwing session, Wisler could make his return from the IL early next week.

Wisler (finger) struck out three over a perfect inning during his rehab appearance Monday at the rookie-level Florida Complex League, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
On the heels of the strong rehab outing, Wisler could be ready to make his return from the 10-day injured list by the middle of the week. When healthy this season, Wisler has been a trusted late-inning option for the Rays. Since coming over in a mid-June trade from the Giants, Wisler has picked up one save and seven holds while submitting a 1.98 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 27.1 innings.

Wisler (finger) isn't expected to return from the 10-day injured list during the Rays' upcoming series in Baltimore this weekend, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to manager Kevin Cash, Wisler was still feeling some discomfort in the fingers on his pitching hand after a 25-pitch bullpen session over the weekend, so the Rays are leaning toward giving the 28-year-old more time to heal up. The setback doesn't seem to be a significant one for Wisler, who has turned in a 3.66 ERA and 60:10 K:BB In 46.2 innings on the season.

Wisler (finger) threw off a mound Sunday and is likely to be activated from the injured list when first eligible Friday, the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran reliever "is pretty optimistic that he's in a good spot" according to manager Kevin Cash, and he's likely to join the Rays on their road trip that begins Tuesday in Philadelphia. That would leave him poised to be immediately available for activation Friday, when he'd look to resume a strong stretch of pitching that saw him allow just a 1.08 ERA and 0.84 WHIP over the 8.1 innings covering his last seven appearances before going on the shelf.

Wisler was placed on the 10-day injured list with right middle finger inflammation Monday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wisler was charged with the loss Sunday when he allowed an unearned run on a hit in a third of an inning against the Twins. His finger didn't feel right when he woke up Monday, but manager Kevin Cash is optimistic that the right-hander will be able to return after spending the minimum of 10 days on the injured list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wisler (3-5) took the loss Sunday against the Twins, giving up one unearned run on one hit while recording zero strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
He came in for the bottom of the ninth in a tie game and gave up a leadoff double to to Max Kepler, who reached third base on a fielding error by Austin Meadows. Jorge Polanco then delivered a walk-off sacrifice fly to right field. Despite this hiccup that wasn't entirely his fault, Wisler should remain in the late-inning mix for the Rays.

Wisler saved Sunday's 3-2 victory over Boston, allowing two hits with one strikeout in the ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
After retiring the first two Red Sox in the ninth, Wisler allowed two singles but induced a J.D. Martinez flyout to end the game and secure his third career save. It's worth noting that manager Kevin Cash turned to Wisler, and not Andrew Kittredge, for Tampa Bay's first save following incumbent closer Diego Castillo's shipment to Seattle, though Kittredge pitched Saturday and recorded the win. Cash has been known to use a committee approach to finish games and Wisler's deployment Sunday proves he's a member of that group at the very least.

Wisler (3-4) took the loss Sunday versus Cleveland. He allowed two runs on two hits and a hit batter in one-third of an inning.
EDGE Analysis
Wisler melted down with a one-run lead, and by the time he exited, Tampa Bay was down a run. The right-hander has mostly been solid since he joined the Rays in a trade from the Giants in June, but he's now allowed runs in each of his last three appearances. Overall, the reliever owns a 4.23 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 52:9 K:BB with seven holds and three blown saves across 38.1 innings.
