Matt Wisler Named Opener on Friday rotoballer.com Fri 8/16/19 6:04 PM
Seattle Mariners pitcher Matt Wisler has been named as the opener for Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Wisler has not been scored on during his other five opener assignments. This strategy appears to be working for the Mariners, so they will continue to use it. Wade LeBlanc will pitch a bulk of the innings, but this continues to be a situation to avoid in fantasy.
Matt Wisler Acquired By Padres rotoballer.com Mon 4/1/19 8:22 PM
Cincinnati Red starting pitcher Matt Wisler has been traded to the San Diego Padres for right-handed pitching prospect Diomar Lopez. Wisler was placed on waivers last week but was out of minor league options, so he will have to report to the Padres 25-man roster. The 26-year-old was originally drafted by the Padres in 2011 before getting traded to Atlanta in 2015 and then to Cincinnati last season. He's appeared in 85 games since 2015, recording a 16-23 record with a 5.14 ERA and measly 6.4 K/9.

Robert Stephenson and Wandy Peralta have secured Opening Day roster spots in the bullpen. NL-Only Waiver Wire Team of the Week: MLB Week 19 September Call-Up... rotoballer.com Tue 8/7/18 4:00 AM
Every week in baseball, a significant player will hit the disabled list, slip into a slump, or get traded out of a good spot. How fantasy owners adapt to these situations can make or break the season as a whole. One lousy add might not hurt the long-term standing of a team, but failing to take advantage of breakouts or impact bats before others sure can.
The primary challenge of playing in an NL or AL-only league is often the lack of options regarding adding and subtracting players when neede[...]

Matt Wisler Great Until Sixth Inning rotoballer.com Sat 5/19/18 6:26 AM
Atlanta Braves pitcher Matt Wisler surrendered two runs, on five hits and two walks in 5.1 innings in his start Friday against the Miami Marlins. Wisler was cruising with five shutout innings, before the sixth gave him some trouble, giving up the two runs and getting just one out. Still, not bad for someone who was just called up from Triple-A. Some run support would have helped. If he does get another start, he's still a risky fantasy streamer despite the good performance.
Matt Wisler to Make At Least One More Start for Braves rotoballer.com Fri 4/20/18 1:51 PM
Following an outing in which he allowed just one run and struck out eight over seven innings, Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Matt Wisler has earned one more start in the rotation. While he shined his last time out, Wisler has been shaky overall in his career with an 18-22 record to go with a 5.16 ERA and a 217/102 K/BB ratio. His next outing will come against the Cincinnati Reds and perhaps if you need a streamer you could take a chance on [...]
