Wallner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Austin Martin will enter the lineup in left field in place of Wallner, who had picked up starts in the corner outfield or at designated hitter in each of Minnesota's first eight games following his July 7 call-up from Triple-A St. Paul. During that eight-game stretch, Wallner hit .333 and flashed power (two home runs, two doubles), but it came with a 42.9 percent strikeout rate. Though the high amount of swing and miss in Wallner's game remains a concern, he should have a relatively clear path to playing time while the Twins contend with a slew of injuries to position players.

Wallner went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in an 8-6 extra-innings win against the White Sox on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Wallner was called up from Triple-A on Sunday and started in left field one day later. He belted a big homer in the seventh inning, clubbing a two-run shot to right field to tie the game 5-5. Wallner demonstrated his power potential last year with 14 home runs in 254 plate appearances with the Twins, and he has two long balls through 39 plate appearances this year but is slashing just .167/.333/.433.

The Twins recalled Wallner from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday. He'll start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old was demoted to St. Paul in mid-April after going 2-for-25 with 17 strikeouts to begin the campaign for the Twins, and he struggled early on at Triple-A with a .465 OPS in his first 11 games. Wallner turned things around from there and is now rejoining the Twins after he posted a 1.143 OPS with 12 home runs in 29 games for St. Paul since June 1. Minnesota's typical starting outfield of Trevor Larnach, Byron Buxton and Max Kepler are currently healthy, so Wallner may not be in store for regular starting opportunities.

The Twins will recall Wallner from Triple-A St. Paul, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Wallner was relegated to St. Paul after opening the season 2-for-25 with a 51.5 percent strikeout game for the Twins, but he'll rejoin the 26-man roster after finding his swing at Triple-A. Wallner has generated a hit in 25 of his 29 games since June 1 and has belted 12 homers during that span. The 26-year-old should provide some depth in the corner outfield positions.

Wallner went 1-for-5 with a double in Sunday's game for Triple-A St. Paul and is hitting .277 with six home runs and a 1.115 OPS over his last 13 games. He's hitting just .206 with 11 home runs and a .745 OPS overall at Triple-A in 46 games.
EDGE Analysis
Wallner began the season as Minnesota's starting right fielder but was sent to the minors after hitting just 2-for-33 through 13 games. He had also struggled in spring training (5-for-38) and looked lost at the plate. His hitting woes continued at Triple-A, but he's finally figuring it out at the plate. With Minnesota's offense struggling, Wallner could get another shot soon if he stays hot.

Wallner is hitting just .180/.265/.344 with five home runs in 33 games since being demoted to Triple-A St. Paul.
EDGE Analysis
Wallner began the season as Minnesota's starting right fielder, but was sent to the minors after hitting just 2-for-33 through 13 games. He had also struggled in spring training (5-for-38) and looked lost at the plate. Unfortunately except for one small hot streak in early May, he hasn't broken out of his funk. While he could still turn his season around and an injury or two in the majors could see him quickly get called up, it certainly doesn't appear like he's set to force his way back to the big leagues any time soon.

Wallner was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul by the Twins on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Wallner had started just two of the previous six contests and sat out twice against right-handers over that span. He'll receive more regular reps at St. Paul and look to get into a groove offensively after going just 2-for-25 with a 51.5 percent strikeout rate in his first 13 games with Minnesota. Manuel Margot, Alex Kirilloff, Trevor Larnach and Austin Martin should handle most of the corner-outfield duties for the Twins in the immediate future, although Max Kepler (knee) doesn't appear far off from a return.

Wallner is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Baltimore.
EDGE Analysis
Wallner has now started just two of the last six games. While it's not a surprise that he's out Monday against a lefty, he's also been on the bench twice versus righties during the aforementioned six-game stretch. Austin Martin will handle left field and Manuel Margot will be in right.

Wallner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old went 1-for-8 with a three-run home run and three strikeouts across both games of Saturday's doubleheader, though it's worth noting the long ball came off position player Zach McKinstry. Wallner has a .508 OPS through 31 plate appearances this season and will sit Sunday despite the fact righty Jack Flaherty is pitching for Detroit.

Wallner is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Lefty Tarik Skubal is starting Friday for the Tigers, so Wallner will head to the bench. The 26-year-old outfielder is off to a horrid start this season, having gone 1-for-15 with 12 strikeouts in 21 plate appearances. Manuel Margot will start in the outfield in his place.
