Detroit Tigers prospect Matt Manning continues to impress as a starting pitcher for Double-A Erie. Manning threw six innings and only allowed four hits, one run, one walk and struck out seven. Manning, 21, has been dominant this season in Double-A and owns an impressive 2.10 ERA with four wins and two losses. The Tigers arent competing this year and dont have any incentive to call up Manning and start his clock, but there is still a chance Manning could make his debut in 2019.

Detroit Tigers pitching prospect Matt Manning is out with what sources are calling a "low-level" oblique strain. He will rest until he is pain-free, then resume his throwing program. Manning posted a 3.18 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in A ball last year after being drafted by Detroit in the first round. The youngster was not expected to contribute at the big league level this year, but it's still a significant injury for a starter rated as the 55th overall prospect by MLB Pipeline.
