The 33-year-old's .381 BABIP and 27.5 strikeout rate indicate that his batting average should come back down the levels we have seen over the past couple of years, but his power potential and prime lineup placement have made him a steal for owners who nabbed the former All-Star on the cheap this season.

Kemp is out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals.

Coming off Saturday's 0-for-3 outing, Kemp will head to the bench while Joc Pederson is sent to left field. Over the last seven games, Kemp has gone 5-for-17 (.294) and hit two home runs. However, he's also struck out seven times across 18 plate appearances in that time.

The 33-year-old's speed and defensive abilities have deteriorated since his days with Padres, but he has experienced a bit of a renaissance in his second go with the Dodgers, slashing .333/.391/.548 with two homers through 46 plate appearances. Kemp has run away with the starting left field job in Los Angeles, and his placement in the middle of the lineup has made him a solid fantasy asset in the early going.

Kemp has started 10 of the Dodgers' first 12 games. He's off to a hot start at the plate, hitting .333/.385/.500 through his first 39 plate appearances. Once his .458 BABIP regresses to a more normal level, though, his numbers will likely look considerably less exciting. Joc Pederson will play left field in his place Saturday.

Kemp went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Athletics.

Kemp proved that he still has some gas left in the tank after slashing .276/.318/.463 in 115 games with the Braves last season, and he would certainly have fantasy value as a regular batting in the middle of a potent Dodger lineup to begin the year.
