Chapman (illness) is back in the lineup Friday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Chapman will start at third base and bat fifth versus the undefeated Rays and right-hander Drew Rasmussen after being scratched from the Blue Jays' lineup Thursday due to an illness. He boasts a ridiculous .489/.538/.851 slash line with three home runs and 15 RBI through 12 games this season.

Chapman (illness) is hoping to return to the lineup Friday against the Rays, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Chapman was scratched from Thursday's loss against the Tigers due to an illness. After the game, manager John Schneider said he hopes Chapman can return to the lineup Friday. That leaves his status relatively unclear, though it's encouraging the third baseman wasn't immediately ruled out for an additional contest.

Chapman was removed from Thursday's lineup due to an illness.
EDGE Analysis
Chapman's illness will put Santiago Espinal in to start at third base and bat eighth Thursday. Chapman should be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Chapman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The third baseman continues his assault on big-league pitching, reeling off his third straight multi-hit performance and seventh in 11 games to begin the season. Chapman's fourth-inning homer off Matt Manning (foot) was his third of the season, and his AL-leading .477 batting average (21-for-44) also comes with seven doubles, nine runs and 15 RBI.

Chapman went 3-for-5 with a grand slam, a walk, five total RBI and a stolen base during Sunday's 12-11 win over the Angels in 10 innings.
EDGE Analysis
The third baseman helped Toronto overcome a six-run deficit with his first career grand slam during the sixth inning, and he followed up with an RBI single in the seventh. It's already Chapman's fourth three-hit effort of the season through 10 games, and he's hitting .475 and is tied for the league lead with 14 RBI.

Chapman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and a walk in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Chapman was the only Blue Jay with multiple extra-base hits in the contest, and his third-inning, two-run homer gave the team an early 4-0 lead. The long ball was his first of the season, but Chapman has been hitting very well through Toronto's first nine contests, racking up eight extra-base hits. He's reached base in each of those games thus far, slashing an impressive .457/.500/.743 over 38 plate appearances.

Chapman went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
What a start to the season for the veteran third baseman. Chapman has banged out multiple hits in four of the first five games, batting .579 (11-for-19) with five doubles, three RBI and four runs scored. He's still looking for his first homer, but given how locked in he is at the plate, it seems only a matter of time before he puts one over the fence.

Chapman went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran third baseman has gotten off to a blistering start to 2023, going 6-for-12 during a three-game set in St. Louis. Sunday's doubles were Chapman's first extra-base hits of the year, and he's slugged 27 homers in each of the last two seasons. If he can hit for a respectable batting average as well -- the 29-year-old has batted above .249 only once in his big-league career -- he could prove to be a mid-round fantasy steal.

Chapman went 3-for-5 with an RBI in a 10-9 win over the Cardinals on Opening Day.
EDGE Analysis
Batting seventh in a deep and dangerous Blue Jays lineup, Chapman was one of four Toronto players to rack up multiple hits as part of a 19-hit attack. The veteran third baseman was also caught stealing, but that can be viewed as a positive sign for his fantasy value -- Chapman is an athletic player who had a sprint speed in the 78th percentile last year according to Statcast, but he's never attempted more than five steals in a season or successfully stolen more than three. If MLB's rule changes have encouraged him to use his legs more, he could make a surprising contribution in that category in 2023.

Chapman went 1-for-3 with a double in Friday's split-squad game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
The third baseman seems to have found his timing at the plate, going 6-for-22 (.273) over his last eight games with three doubles and a 2:2 BB:K. Chapman's still looking for his first spring homer, but hitting for power hasn't been an issue for the 29-year-old during his career. With free agency looming next winter, Chapman has plenty of incentive to put together a big 2023 after posting a .757 OPS last year with 27 home runs and 76 RBI.
