Harris Yudin's Bold Predictions for 2019 rotoballer.com Wed 3/20/19 6:30 AM
Despite whiffing on more than half, my 2018 predictions were highlighted by the claim that Christian Yelich would return first-round value. I was also justifiably optimistic about Matt Chapmans breakout and Khris Davis impending title of Home Run King. So, I figured, the best plan of attack for 2019 was to use the same template for some of those accurate predictions: ___ returns first-round value, ___ leads the Majors in home runs and ___ is a top-10 *insert position.*Beyond that, I ran with a f[...]

2018 was a fantastic year for a number of MLB players. Those breakout players are also a lot of fun for fantasy baseball owners. If you manage to hit on one, be it in the draft or free agency, they can be a big part of the reason you win your leagues. Those breakouts will become some of your favorite players and names you rememb[...]

Predicting the Top 10 Finishers for RBI in 2019 rotoballer.com Fri 3/15/19 6:15 AM
If you so much as mention the acronym "RBI" in the wrong baseball circles these days, you run the risk of being ridiculed. Because RBI is such an opportunity-driven statistic, it is no longer viewed as an accurate measurement of a player's overall value.J.T. Realmuto didn't have any control over the on-base percentages of the players hitting before him in a dreadful 2018 Marlins lineup. By the same token, J.D. Martinez is not responsible for the fact that he got to hit behind exceptional players[...]

Matt Chapman Could Play In Games Early Next Week rotoballer.com Fri 2/22/19 12:58 PM
Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman (shoulder, thumb) has been making good progress from his offseason surgeries and could play in Cactus League games by early next week. Chapman really showed his upside in his second year in the big leagues, hitting .278/.356/.508 with an .864 OPS, 24 home runs and 68 RBI in 145 games. Even in a pitching-friendly environment, he's a young third baseman on the rise and he should be considered a top-15 fantasy option at the hot corner.
Matt Chapman Takes 20 Swings On Friday rotoballer.com Sat 2/16/19 4:06 AM
Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman (shoulder, thumb) was able to take 20 swings during batting practice on Friday and he said after that the session went great. He remains slightly behind schedule in his recovery from offseason surgeries, but he is making progress. On a normal day the swing total in spring training varies, but beat writer Susan Slusser suggested a typical say consists of 60 or more swings. It's likely prospect third baseman Sheldon Neuse gets all the at-bats he can h[...]
