Please Let Brandon Belt Get Traded rotoballer.com Wed 12/19/18 8:30 AM

A report recently came to light that the San Francisco Giants were making first baseman and owner of a genuine super-beard,Brandon Belt, available in trades. Apparently, there are teams interested in the oft-injured slugger, despite the whopping $48 million due to him over the next three years. Its not terribly surprising that Belt is available, as teammates Madison Bumgarner and Brandon Crawford are also very publicly on the block amid a teardown from the glory years of 2010 to 2015. The Giants[...]

The 2018 season has now come and gone (so sad!), so it is now time to dive into trends and projections for next season! Run production, that is R+RBI, is a key trend to monitor, as there are tight correlations to both slugging percentage and on base percentage with the respective numbers.Let's start with the fact that there were only eight players in baseball that tallied 100 runs scored and 100 RBI, with only two of those players repeating the feat from 2017. It is obvious those that fell off o[...]

Friday Five: Vexing Valuations rotoballer.com Fri 9/14/18 7:15 AM

With almost all of my fantasy teams dead in the water at this point, my attention has already begun turning toward the future. Naturally, upon receiving an invitation from The Great Fantasy Baseball Invitational overlord, RotoGraphs writer, and t-shirt inspiration Justin Mason to participate in this year's Too Early Mock Draft, I jumped at the opportunity. I wound up sorted into draft room #2, which will kick things off just minutes after this article is published. Most likely, I'll be writin[...]

Matt Carpenter Dealing With Illness rotoballer.com Wed 8/29/18 7:58 PM

Updating a previous report, St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt said that infielder Matt Carpenter (illness) is dealing with a 24-hour virus. It explains why he was removed from the game early on Wednesday due to nausea. Carpenter may need to sit out a day or two, but he should return at some point this weekend. He's been the team's best offensive weapon, hitting .274 with 34 home runs and 71 RBI coming into the game on Wednesday.
