Bush will miss the first half of the 2019 season after undergoing surgery to repair a partially torn UCL on Wednesday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bush didn't require Tommy John surgery, so he won't be out quite as long as other pitchers with elbow problems, but he's still expected to miss an extended period, which will come with all the typical questions about his ability to return to his former level. That level wasn't particularly good when he was healthy in 2018, as he recorded a disappointing 4.70 ERA in 23 innings and did not record a single save. He'll have some work to do to if he's to get back into the closer conversation in late 2019.

Bush (elbow) ruled out a return before the end of the season, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bush has been sidelined since mid-June with an elbow strain. While he recently picked up a throwing program, the right-hander confirmed there simply won't be enough time for him to get back up to speed before the end of the season.

Bush (elbow) played catch Tuesday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic Dallas reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bush has now missed two full months with a strained elbow. It hasn't yet been ruled out that he'll return this season, but given the nature of the injury and the fact that the Rangers are far out of the playoff race, they'll have little reason to push him.

The Rangers expect Bush (elbow) will be given permission to resume light throwing this week, Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bush has been on the disabled list since June 14 because of a strained elbow. We suspect the organization will let him continue to rehab through the offseason, and not bring him back to the active roster this season.

Bush (elbow) said Sunday that he's at least two weeks away from starting a throwing program, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bush has been pleased with how his strained right elbow has responded to stem-cell treatment, but he'll still require some additional rest before playing catch. Given where he's at in his recovery, Bush seems unlikely to return from the 60-day disabled list until at least mid-August.

The Rangers transferred Bush to the 60-day disabled list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Bush has been sidelined since June 13 with a strained flexor tendon and was unlikely to resume a throwing program until sometime in August after recently requiring a stem-cell injection, so the move to the 60-day DL won't alter his timeline to rejoin the Rangers. The transaction creates a spot on the roster for outfielder Austin Jackson, who was acquired from the Giants on Sunday.

Bush (elbow) underwent a stem cell injection and is expected to be out for another six weeks, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bush has not pitched since June 13 because of a strained flexor tendon in his right arm.

Bush was placed on the 10-day disabled list due to a right elbow strain, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bush appears to have suffered the injury during Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, during which he faced just one batter before coming out of the game. An exact timetable has yet to be established but there should be a better gauge on his status in the coming days.

Bush was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Bush was sent down earlier in the year despite a respectable 3.97 ERA. His 11:9 K:BB and 6.14 FIP indicated that all was not well, however. He seemed to get back on track with Round Rock, posting a 2.00 ERA and a 14:4 K:BB in nine innings. In a corresponding move, Kevin Jepsen was designated for assignment.

Bush was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
This is by no means a reflection of Bush's performance this season, as he holds a 3.97 ERA on the season. However, he's likely unavailable for a few days after pitching in four straight games, so he'll get the boot from the active roster. His demotion will clear a spot for Doug Fister, who was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move.
