Adams went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
The fifth-inning blast off Gerrit Cole was his first for Atlanta and second of the season, and Adams appears to be settling in as the team's starting first baseman. He won't provide the offense Freddie Freeman (wrist) did, but the former Cardinal's fantasy value still takes a massive jump in his new uniform and new role.

Adams will start at first base and bat fifth Sunday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves aren't wasting any time integrating Adams into the lineup after acquiring him from the Cardinals on Saturday. With Freddie Freeman (wrist) due to miss approximately 10 weeks, Adams will likely serve as the Braves' everyday first baseman in the interim, with utility man Jace Peterson occasionally spelling him at the position. When he saw full-time duty with the Cardinals in past seasons, Adams proved to be a capable corner-infield option thanks to his respectable contributions in home runs and batting average, so he's probably worthy of a look at least in deeper leagues where he's available.

Adams was traded to the Braves along with cash considerations for Juan Tepez.
EDGE Analysis
With Freddie Freeman (wrist) landing on the disabled list earlier in the week, the Braves seem to have found his (temporary) replacement at first base. Matt Carpenter was essentially entrenched at first base for the Cardinals, leaving Adams without a true spot in St. Louis and thus prompting the Cardinals to send him south in a deal that seemingly benefits both teams. The trade will open up offer immediate playing time for Adams, who is slashing .292/.340/.396 through 53 plate appearances this season.

Adams went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs during Saturday's win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Adams entered the game after Jose Martinez (groin) was forced from the contest in the first inning, and the injury could provide a few more opportunities for Adams to play going forward. The home run was the first of the season for Adams, but he's only received 46 plate appearances and played just three full games (two were as the designated hitter). Without a full-time job, he's been leaned on off the bench as a pinch-hitter, and his suspect outfield defense will likely continue to limit his playing time.

Adams went 3-for-3 with an RBI single and double along with another two-bagger in Thursday's 6-4 nightcap of a doubleheader.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran has been having a difficult time cracking the lineup but cashed in on a start in the nightcap of Thursday's twin bill, as Matt Carpenter opted to serve his one-game suspension without appeal. That put Adams back in his familiar first-base role for the night, and he boosted his average 75 points with his first multi-hit effort of the season. Despite the success, the 28-year-old figures to primarily see action in a pinch-hit capacity for the foreseeable future.

Adams was a late addition to the starting lineup Tuesday, batting sixth and playing first base, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Matt Carpenter (suspension) opting to serve his suspension immediately rather than appeal it, an opening in the lineup cropped up for Adams to make a start. He'll face off with Blue Jays right-hander Marco Estrada on Tuesday.

Adams produced an RBI single in a pinch-hit at-bat in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran notched his second single in seven pinch-hit at-bats this season in the eighth with a grounder to right that plated Kolten Wong and closed out the Cardinals' scoring. Adams has been struggling to get playing time in the wake of Matt Carpenter having taken over at first base this season, but an established track record of success as a pinch hitter should net him plenty of opportunities in that regard.

Adams, who's slashing .154/.241/.154 over 29 plate appearances this season, is having an increasingly difficult time cracking the lineup, Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "Whoever is really hot is going to get an opportunity," said manager Mike Matheny. "We've got to get Adams into that mix where he gets opportunities but he's still going to be a guy who's going to be coming off the bench every single day - or, at least, a threat of coming in and changing the game with one at-bat."
EDGE Analysis
The career .268 hitter has been unable to get into anything resembling a groove at the plate this season, and his sporadic playing time likely hasn't helped. Adams' 366 games at first base since the 2012 season represent a team high, but that is Matt Carpenter's domain on the majority of days now. Meanwhile, the experiment of using Adams in left field as a means of working him into the lineup didn't exactly go awry, but Matheny has not deployed the veteran there again after using him in that role in four of the first nine games of the season. Adams also has an extended track record as an excellent pinch hitter, but is just 1-for-6 in that role this season and has ceded some pinch-hit work to Greg Garcia and Jose Martinez. Despite the recent lack of playing time, Matheny continues expressing confidence in one of the team's more dependable players. "He did a fine job. He's going to continue to get work - just for his own good as he kind of thinks what he can do as a player to give himself more flexibility to get into the lineup."

Adams is batting fifth and slotted as the designated hitter for Friday's game against the Yankees, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Cardinals set to begin a weekend series in the Bronx, Adams may find himself playing in a more regular role. The left-handed slugger has gotten just three starts this season as he lags behind Matt Carpenter in the first base depth chart, but could fit in well as the designated hitter.

Adams, who is attempting to acclimate to left field after having played first base exclusively throughout his career, will receive tutoring from Cardinals legend Willie McGee, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "So we're going to continue to get him opportunities, especially when we're looking to find some offense," manager Mike Matheny said. "We know what his bat can do. He's in a real good spot, in my opinion. We like where Adams is and he is going to have to just continue to improve so we can put him in the outfield and make that a viable option."
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals began tinkering with the idea of deploying Adams in left this spring as a way to get his bat into the lineup more often, considering that Matt Carpenter now occupies Adams' old first base spot. Adams has received four starts in left thus far this season, which have come at the expense of Randal Grichuk. However, Matheny has also had both players split games on occasion, with the latest example having come Wednesday when Adams started against the Nationals and Grichuk stepped in for the final five innings. Despite the fact he's hitting just .143 with no extra-base hits and only one RBI over his first 17 plate appearances, the fact that the team has brought in McGee to specifically work on Adams' defense speaks volumes of their intention to afford him regular playing time.
