Adams (oblique) is starting at first base and hitting fifth Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
He made a pinch-hit appearance Friday but hadn't played since June 10 before that. Ryan Zimmerman (foot) should head out on a rehab assignment soon, but in the meantime, Adams will split time with Howie Kendrick at first base.

Adams (oblique) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Adams is out of the lineup for the third straight game with the strained left oblique. The team has believed to this point a trip to the injured list won't be necessary, but it's unlikely it will want to operate with a short bench for much longer. Howie Kendrick will start at first base and bat fifth Friday.

Adams (oblique) will take batting practice prior to Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
He is not in Thursday's starting lineup, but the team still believes he will avoid a trip to the injured list. Gerardo Parra is starting at first base, and Yan Gomes will be the emergency first baseman while Adams and Ryan Zimmerman (foot) are out.

According to manager Dave Martinez, Adams' oblique injury is "a lot better than we anticipated," Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
While this doesn't mean that Adams will avoid a trip to the shelf, the Nationals will wait another day before making a final decision on what to do with the 30-year-old first baseman. He's expected to be re-evaluated during Wednesday's scheduled off day.

Adams left Monday's game against the White Sox due to a strained left oblique, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adams was removed in the sixth inning of Monday's series opener, and the Nationals later revealed that he'd suffered an oblique injury on a check swing. The team won't know more about Adams' status moving forward until he's re-evaluated Tuesday morning, but skipper Davey Martinez did note that he's "a little concerned," per Zuckerman.

Adams isn't starting Friday's game against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Adams will head to the bench for the second straight game with a southpaw set to take the mound for the opposition. As a result, Howie Kendrick gets the call at first base and will bat fifth.

Adams is not in the lineup Thursday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Adams has started the past six games for the Nationals, going 6-for-23 (.261) with a pair of homers and five RBI during that stretch, but he'll take a seat for Thursday's series opener with a southpaw in Joey Lucchesi toeing the rubber for San Diego. In his stead, Howie Kendrick is starting at first base and hitting fifth.

Adams will start at first base and bat sixth Wednesday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Since returning from the 10-day injured list May 22, Adams has settled into a large-side platoon role at first base, pushing Howie Kendrick into a utility gig in the process. Though Adams is only batting .216 in his first 10 games back in action, three of his eight hits during that stretch have been home runs. He'll draw a sixth straight start Wednesday as the Nationals and White Sox wrap up their two-game set.

Adams went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Wednesday's rout of Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
His fifth-inning shot off Dan Winkler put the finishing touches on a 14-run explosion for the Nats. Adams is hitting .286 (6-for-21) through six games since coming off the injured list, with two of his five homers on the year.
