Washington Nationals first baseman Matt Adams continues to progress in his return from a shoulder strain that has shelved him since May 5. He was able to take some swings on Sunday, but we're still awaiting a clear timetable for his return. Adams has three homers and a .250 average in 67 plate appearances as the Nats are also down Ryan Zimmerman as well at first base. Upon Adams' return to the lineup, he's nothing more than an NL-only option for as long as Zimmerman is out.

Washington Nationals first baseman Matt Adams (shoulder) has been placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday. Adams suffered a left shoulder strain after diving for a ground ball on Saturday. There is currently no timetable for Adams' return right now. Howie Kendrick should get plenty of looks at first base and could be someone worth grabbing in fantasy leagues while the Nationals lacking depth at first base.
