Englert (hip) is scheduled to appear in relief in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
After he was blasted for nine earned runs in 2.1 innings of long relief July 22 against the Padres, Englert never appeared again for the Tigers last season. He was placed on the injured list two days later with a left hip tightness, and though he was sent out on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Toledo in September, he was ultimately shut down again. Englert appears to be healthy again after having the offseason to recover from the hip issue, but he'll need a strong showing in spring training to secure a spot in the Tigers' Opening Day bullpen. He'll be making his second Grapefruit League appearance Wednesday after he surrendered three earned runs on three hits -- all home runs -- in two innings this past Saturday against the Yankees.

Englert (hip) was pulled off his rehab assignment Sunday to undergo further medical evaluation, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Englert had allowed nine earned runs on 16 hits and four walks through 11.1 innings of work with Triple-A Toledo. He's been on the major-league injured list since late July due to left hip tightness and now seems doubtful to make it back to the bigs this year.

Englert (hip) is set to begin a rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Toledo, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Out since July 24 due to left hip tightness, Englert should be an option again for the Tigers' bullpen after one or two appearances on the farm. The 23-year-old right-hander has posted a 5.46 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 41:17 K:BB across his first 56 major-league innings this season with Detroit.

Englert (hip) has thrown three bullpen sessions since landing on the 15-day injured list July 24, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Englert isn't on track to return from the IL on Monday when first eligible, he at least hasn't been shut down from throwing as he works his way back from a sore left hip. Assuming he checked out fine after his most recent bullpen session Saturday, Englert could be cleared to face hitters early this week before potentially reporting to a minor-league affiliate for a brief rehab assignment.

The Tigers placed Englert on the 15-day injured list Monday with left hip tightness.
EDGE Analysis
Englert's move to the IL comes two days after he was lit up for nine earned runs on 10 hits and one walk over 2.1 innings of long relief in Saturday's 14-3 loss to the Padres. Prior to the disastrous outing, Englert had been a serviceable middle-relief option for the Tigers, accruing a 4.19 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 40:16 K:BB in 53.2 innings. A timeline for Englert's return from the injury hasn't been established, but he'll be eligible for activation beginning Aug. 7.

Englert (4-3) took the loss in Saturday's 14-3 loss against San Diego. He allowed nine runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out one over 2.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
After a rain delay knocked out starter Matt Manning, Englert was handed the ball to start the third inning and immediately got into trouble. He served up an RBI double to Juan Soto and then a three-run homer to Manny Machado in back-to-back at-bats to set off a miserable appearance. The outing spoiled what has otherwise been a solid rookie season for Englert, ballooning his ERA from 4.19 to 5.46 and giving him his third loss of the campaign.

Englert (2-2) allowed one run on four hits across two innings of relief and earned the win Friday against the Twins. He had two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Englert followed opener Will Vest and was able to earn the win despite allowing a lot of traffic on the bases during his two innings of work. The righty has a middling 4.87 ERA and 1.52 WHIP for the season, limiting his fantasy appeal. He has at least been able to give the Tigers some length out of the bullpen, as 14 of his 23 appearances this year have covered at least two innings.

Englert will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher in Monday's game versus Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Englert will pick up his first MLB start Monday, but because he hasn't covered more than three innings in any of his 21 appearances on the season, he's unlikely to work deep enough into the contest to qualify for a win. The Tigers are treating Monday's contest as a bullpen day and use a number of relievers after Englert exits the contest.

Englert (1-1) tossed 2.2 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win Tuesday against the Brewers. He allowed one hit and struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit starter Spencer Turnbull only lasted four innings, so the Tigers needed Englert and others to provide some length out of the bullpen. The righty responded with a strong performance. Englert has been mostly good this season outside of allowing five runs over two innings back on April 11. He's also done a solid job of missing bats, as he now has 16 strikeouts across 16 frames this year.

Englert tossed three scoreless innings of relief in a 4-3 win over the Guardians during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader. He allowed two hits and struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
After starter Matthew Boyd went five innings, the Tigers turned to Englert, and he provided some valuable length out of the bullpen. The righty lowered his ERA from 6.30 to 4.85 in the process. Englert allowed five runs in an appearance last Tuesday, but outside of that poor outing, he's been a fairly solid long reliever. He should stick in that role for the time being on a Detroit team that doesn't have a ton of other great options.
