Mark Rodgers was outstanding in a no-decision against the Astros on Friday, allowing just one run on three hits over seven innings. Rogers walked two and struck out a career-high eight in the game. He didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning, where Chris Corporan's RBI single provided the only run against him on the night. He handed his bullpen a 3-1 lead, but again they were unable to uphold their end of the bargain, with John Axford blowing another save in the ninth. Rogers has pitched very well in two of his first three starts this year, and could be worth a look as a matchup play in deeper mixed formats the remainder of the season. He'll take on the Rockies next at Colorado on Wednesday.

Brewers recalled RHP Mark Rogers from Triple-A Nashville. Rogers is replacing Zack Greinke in the starting rotation Sunday against the Nationals. Its possible he'll be given an extended look, barring an implosion in his 2012 debut. A former top prospect, Rogers has been consistently clocked in the 92-97 mph range this season.

Brewers reinstated RHP Mark Rogers from the restricted list. The move restores Rogers to the Brewers' 40-man roster. Rogers began the year with six games remaining on the 25-game suspension he was handed last season for testing positive for a banned stimulant. Recovering from surgery to both wrists, he is currently in extended spring training, but will soon report to Triple-A Nashville. Rogers has just 10 innings of major-league experience, all of which came in 2010.

Brewers optioned RHPs Mark Rogers, Mike Fiers and Wily Peralta to Triple-A Nashville. Rogers has had numerous injury issues and has six games remaining on last year's 25-game stimulant suspension, but the Brewers were encouraged by how he looked this spring. "This is best my arm has felt in a long time," the righty said. Peralta is the team's top pitching prospect, but he needs more seasoning and there's no room for him in the rotation, anyway.

Mark Rogers will be sidelined for a few days after straining his hamstring during an intrasquad game Saturday. It won't affect his ability to be ready for the start of the season, but Rogers is a longshot to make the team, anyway. The 26-year-old righty posted a 9.34 ERA in 44 1/3 minor league innings last season and has six games remaining on last year's 25-game stimulant suspension.

Mark Rogers has been suspended 25 games after a second positive test for a stimulant in violation of MLB's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. It's not clear at this point what drug Rogers tested positive for, but it appears it's a drug of abuse rather than some sort of performance-enhancer. The right-hander was already slated to undergo surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome in his right wrist, so he was not expected to return this year, anyway.

Mark Rogers has been placed on the minor league disabled list and is expected to undergo surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome in his right wrist. The symptoms have bothered Rogers since May, and the Brewers have known that he'd eventually need an operation. He'll be examined by Dr. Don Sheridan in Phoenix Friday before an official decision is made about surgery. Rogers has thrown just 44 1/3 innings this season due to the ailment and has posted a 9.54 ERA.
