Buehrle gave up two runs on eight hits over six innings in a winning effort over the Orioles on Friday. The victory was the 200th of his career. He needed just 84 pitches (50 strikes) to record 18 outs Friday, and it was a very typical start for the veteran left-hander. Buehrle's next start lines up for Wednesday at Rogers Centre against the Rays.

Buehrle pitched 3.1 shutout innings on Thursday, giving up two hits while striking out two against the Rays. It's difficult to read too much into Grapefruit League statistics; however, it's good to see Buehrle be as efficient as he was. Buehrle has pitched at least 200 innings in 14 straight seasons and with the injury to Marcus Stroman that will hold him out this season, getting quality performances out of Buehrle and R.A. Dickey will be even more important.

Buehrle spun eight shutout innings, allowing three hits while walking one and striking out 10 in a 1-0 win over Seattle on Wednesday night. Buehrle (13-10, 3.39 ERA) saved his best for last as he baffled the Mariners for eight-plus innings in his final 2014 outing. It pushed his innings pitched total to 202 - the 14th consecutive season he has eclipsed 200 innings, and he logged double-digit strikeouts for the first time since his first start of the year. He may not be a huge fantasy asset, but he is a class act, and he is building upon a very solid career.

Buehrle was not very impressive during six innings versus the Yankees on Friday night, as he gave up five earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three. Buehrle has been anything but consistent here in the second half of 2014. After an outstanding first three months of the season earned him a fifth-career All-Star selection, the veteran southpaw has posted an uninspiring 5.19 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over a dozen starts since the break. Buehrle will likely finish up his 15th MLB campaign Wednesday against the Mariners.

Buehrle gave up nine hits and four earned runs over six innings in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay. Buehrle, who struck out one and walked one, has gone at least six innings in five straight starts. He'll take a 3.40 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 106:43 K:BB ratio into Friday's start at Yankee Stadium.

Buehrle's next start has been moved up to Sunday against the Rays, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. Buehrle has had the Rays' number this season, with just eight earned runs and 34 hits allowed over 34.2 innings, so the Blue Jays will move him up and push Marcus Stroman back to Monday. Thanks to Thursday's off day, Buehrle will still be on normal rest.

Buehrle could move up to start Sunday against the Rays, the Associated Press reports. With an off-day in the schedule, the Jays have the flexibility of moving Marcus Stroman back if desired. Stroman has been knocked around in his two starts against the Rays, while Buehrle has gone 2-0 with a 2.08 in five starts against Tampa Bay, which may be enough for manager John Gibbons to make the switch.

Buehrle (11-9) earned the win against the Cubs on Tuesday, allowing two earned runs on 10 hits while fanning three and not issuing a walk over seven innings. This was the veteran's first W since July 30 against the Red Sox (seven starts prior). Buehrle's walks have been down throughout that span, however, as he's impressively dished out just three free passes over his last 36 innings, something that has kept his WHIP in check by offsetting the 46 hits allowed during that time. He may have another tough time missing bats in his next start against first-place Baltimore on Monday.

Buehrle was strong in Thursday's start at Tampa Bay, tossing eight scoreless innings with four strikeouts. He scattered five singles and issued just one walk, recording a no-decision. Buehrle clearly pitched well enough to win, but was matched by opposing starter Jake Odorizzi. Other than Buehrle's nice outing Thursday, he has been mediocre in his last 10 starts, posting a 5.75 ERA in 51.2 innings. Going back even further, Buehrle has just two wins in his last 17 outings, while making only eight quality starts during that period. Still, he normally chews up some innings and plays for a potential playoff team, so he could get back on track in the wins department over the final three weeks. He'll make just one start next week, and that will be at home against the Cubs.

Buehrle allowed four runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out four over six-plus innings of a 6-3 loss to the Yankees on Friday night. Buehrle (11-9, 3.50 ERA) was on auto-pilot through six innings, but things disintegrated in the seventh when the Yankees notched five runs. It was the 11th consecutive loss to the Yankees for Buehrle and dropped his career record against them to a dismal 1-13. He'll hope for a better outcome when he takes on Tampa Bay on the road next time out.
