Mariano Rivera pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his 37th save of the season against the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Rivera hit a rough patch in early August, but he's rebounded to post 3 2/3 scoreless innings in his last four appearances. He lowered his season ERA to 2.25, and his 37 saves are good for second-most in the American League.

Mariano Rivera allowed two homers over one inning Sunday against the Tigers, but escaped with the win. Rivera replaced David Robertson in the top of the ninth protecting a 4-2 Yankee lead. Homers by Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez tied the affair, but Brett Gardner's walk-off in the bottom half of the frame gifted the ancient New York closer with his third win of the season (and 78th overall, for those keeping track at home). Rivera has surrendered a troubling five runs on three homers over his last three appearances, which has spiked his ERA from 1.56 to 2.44.

Mariano Rivera blew his second consecutive save chance on Friday, surrendering a two-out, game-tying homer to Miguel Cabrera. Even with these blips on the radar, Rivera still owns a terrific 2.08 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 41/8 K/BB ratio through 43 1/3 innings on the season. He has still converted 35 of his 39 save chances on the season, and remains one of the truly elite closers in the league.

Mariano Rivera blew his third save of the season against the White Sox on Wednesday. Rivera got two quick outs before giving up a double to Gordon Beckham and an RBI single to Adam Dunn that tied the game. It was just his third blown save in 38 chances, so his success rate is still pretty high. Blown saves happen.

Mariano Rivera tossed a perfect ninth inning Wednesday against the Dodgers for his 34th save of the season. He struck out two and dispatched the Dodgers in 12 pitches. It was Rivera's second career save at Dodgers Stadium (he's earned saves in 31 parks). Rivera hasn't allowed a run since July 7. The All-Star game MVP currently boasts a 1.60 ERA. The Yankees probably wish they could sign him to a long-term extension.

Mariano Rivera earned All-Star game MVP honors with a perfect inning in the American League's 3-0 victory over the National League Tuesday. Mo came on in the eighth inning instead of the ninth, as AL manager Jim Leyland wanted to make sure the all-time saves leader made an appearance. It was a fantastic moment, as the players waited to take the field until Mo began throwing his warm-up tosses. No. 42 then retired the NL in order. He became the first reliever ever to take home the All-Star game MVP award.

Mariano Rivera tossed a perfect ninth inning Friday against the Twins for his 30th save of the season. His first appearance since Sunday's blown save against the Orioles, Rivera needed just nine pitches to close it out. He struck out one batter in the scoreless frame. The 43-year-old hasn't missed a beat since returning from knee surgery, posting a 1.83 ERA in 38 appearances while going 30-for-32 in save chances. He defies reason and logic.

Mariano Rivera suffered a rare blown save Sunday, allowing a go-ahead, two-run homer to the Orioles' Adam Jones. Mo lost a one-out battle with Nick Markakis, who singled, before Jones hit one over the boards in left-center. It was the future Hall of Famer's first blown save since May 28 and just his second in 31 tries this season. Mo's WHIP has been uncharacteristically high this season at 1.29, as he's giving up over a hit per inning. Still, he boasts a 1.89 ERA and will remain an elite fantasy closer this season.
