The Giants recalled Luciano from Triple-A Sacramento, and he's batting sixth as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old is one of San Francisco's top prospects and is expected to see regular playing time after the club traded away Jorge Soler. Luciano went 9-for-24 during his brief look in the big leagues in May and has a .243/.384/.371 slash line with eight homers at Triple-A this year.

The Giants are expected to recall Luciano from Triple-A Sacramento prior to Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
San Francisco has an open spot on its active roster following Monday's trade with Atlanta and that spot will be filled by Luciano, who boasts a .413 on-base percentage with six home runs in July at Sacramento. The 22-year-old hit well with the Giants earlier this season, too, with a .986 OPS in 10 games, but his defense at shortstop was lacking. That position is now being filled by the red-hot Tyler Fitzgerald, but Luciano could receive regular reps at second base and/or designated hitter.

The Giants activated Luciano (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Sacramento, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Luciano has put his hamstring injury in the rearview mirror, but he will remain at Sacramento where he had been on a rehab assignment rather than return to the majors. Nick Ahmed (wrist) is also back from the IL and will take over as the Giants' starting shortstop.

Luciano (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Triple-A Sacramento's game versus Reno on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
This game marked the beginning of Luciano's rehab assignment after he landed on the injured list May 31. The infielder played second base for Sacramento with Nick Ahmed (wrist) also on a rehab assignment and occupying shortstop. Given the timeline of those two players rehabbing together, it's possible Luciano may stay at Triple-A once healthy, as the Giants likely value Brett Wisely's versatility a bit more for the major-league roster.

The Giants placed Luciano on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right hamstring strain, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Luciano made an early exit from Wednesday's game against the Phillies because of hamstring problems, and he will now officially be sidelined until at least June 10. Casey Schmitt was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move and will presumably work in the short side of a platoon with Brett Wisely while Luciano is out.

Luciano was lifted from Wednesday's game against the Phillies in the bottom of third inning with right hamstring tightness, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. He reached base on a throwing error during his only plate appearance before exiting the contest.
EDGE Analysis
Brett Wisely came off the bench to pinch hit for Luciano in the latter's second turn through the batting order. It's unclear when if Luciano first sustained the injury while he was playing shortstop in the top of the third or at some earlier in the contest, but the Giants should provide more details on his condition after the game. Luciano has been working in the short side of a platoon with the lefty-hitting Wisely at shortstop lately while Nick Ahmed (wrist) is on the injured list.

Luciano is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
After drawing five straight starts at shortstop from last Friday through Wednesday, Luciano appears to have moved into more of a timeshare at the position with Brett Wisely. Even with lefty Sean Manaea toeing the rubber for the Mets, the righty-hitting Luciano will give way to the lefty-hitting Wisely in the series finale.

Luciano isn't in the Giants' lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Luciano has filled in as San Francisco's primary shortstop since Nick Ahmed went down with a wrist injury, but he will get a breather Saturday after going 3-for-4 during Friday's win in the series opener. Brett Wisely will start at shortstop and bat ninth in his place.

Luciano is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Luciano has taken the reins at shortstop since Nick Ahmed (wrist) landed on the 10-day injured list May 10, with the 22-year-old having started each of the last five games while going 6-for-17 with two doubles and three doubles. He'll likely still continue to see the bulk of the reps at shortstop sans Ahmed, but Luciano will give way to Brett Wisely in the series finale.

Luciano will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Luciano will pick up his fifth straight start after going 6-for-15 with two doubles, two walks, four runs and one RBI over the previous four contests. He should continue to hold down a regular role at shortstop while Nick Ahmed (wrist) is on the shelf, and Luciano may keep the job once Ahmed is healthy if he can continue to produce at the plate.
