Manny Acosta has signed a one-year, $1.65 million contract with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan's Central League. Acosta was non-tendered by the Mets last month and evidently didn't find any offers from major league clubs that were enticing. He posted a 6.46 ERA and 46/25 K/BB ratio over 47 1/3 innings this past season.

The Mets will not tender a contract to RHP Manny Acosta. Acosta posted a 6.46 ERA and 46/25 K/BB ratio over 47 1/3 innings this past season, though he was much better after returning during the second half of the season. He might make for a nice value on the open market.

Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports that the Mets are expected to non-tender Manny Acosta. Various reports have indicated that Mike Pelfrey and Andres Torres will also be non-tendered. Acosta earned $875,000 last season while posting a 6.46 ERA and 46/25 K/BB ratio over 47 1/3 innings.

Mets purchased the contract of RHP Manny Acosta from Triple-A Buffalo. Acosta was booted off the 40-man roster in late May, but he's back up with the big club after posting a 2.25 ERA and 25/4 K/BB ratio over 28 innings at the Triple-A level. The Mets have yet to announce a corresponding roster move, but outfielder Lucas Duda could be hours away from a demotion.

The Mets plan to purchase the contract of right-hander Manny Acosta from Triple-A Buffalo prior to Tuesday's game. Acosta was designated for assignment by the Mets in late May after posting a miserable 11.86 ERA and 23/15 K/BB ratio over 22 innings. However, he stuck around after clearing waivers and compiled a 2.25 ERA and 25/4 K/BB ratio over 28 innings during his time with the Bisons. He'll take the roster spot of Pedro Beato, who was optioned to the minors after Monday's game. Matt Harvey still needs to be added to the roster, so Lucas Duda may end up being demoted after all.

Mets sent RHP Manny Acosta outright to Triple-A Buffalo. As expected, Acosta cleared waivers. The 31-year-old right-hander was a solid contributor for the Mets' bullpen from 2010-2011, but he has a miserable 11.86 ERA and 23/15 K/BB ratio over 22 innings this season. We'll probably see him again later this summer.

According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, Manny Acosta will be designated for assignment to make room for Chris Schwinden on the active roster. As expected. Acosta gave up three runs on four hits Monday against the Phillies and owns an ugly 11.86 ERA and 23/15 K/BB ratio over 22 innings this season. The move should be made official Tuesday.

Mets manager Terry Collins suggested Manny Acosta's roster spot could be in jeopardy. Acosta has a 10.53 ERA in 17 appearances this season, and the Mets plan to restore their bench to five position players before Monday's game in Pittsburgh. Jeremy Hefner, who was promoted for Jordany Valdespin on Saturday, could ultimately replace him on the active roster.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Manny Acosta would be used in a potential save situation Tuesday. It seems as though Acosta is the Mets' primary closer for the time being, as he's already earned each of the last two save chances. Bobby Parnell could still possibly get some opportunities before the end of the year.

Mopping up in a 6-1 game, Manny Acosta gave up four runs in the ninth Thursday in the loss to the Nationals. Three were earned. Acosta is a candidate for saves these next two weeks with Bobby Parnell struggling, but he's not pitching particularly well himself at the moment; this is the third time in five appearances that he's given up at least a run.
