2019 Bullpen Outlooks - National League Central rotoballer.com Thu 1/17/19 8:30 AM

Now that the National League East and all their moves have been covered, it's time to look at the NL Central and discuss the lack of movement in that division.Several teams in the NL Central could benefit from strengthening their relief corps, yet only one team has made any noise in free agency or the trade market so far. There are still several talented late-inning pitchers available as free agents though, so with still about a month until spring training begins, the NL Central bullpens are cer[...]

2019 Relief Pitchers - Early Fantasy Baseball Tiered Rankings rotoballer.com Mon 1/14/19 7:00 AM

A tough position to evaluate is that of relief pitchers, as a lot of success for closers comes from success from teams. There are also a lot of bullpens by committee these days, further stifling the value of closers. That being said, only four of the pitchers that ranked in the top-10 in saves in 2017 followed up in 2018. One of those pitchers had a huge jump in saves, but [...]

Luke Gregerson Seeking Second Opinion rotoballer.com Fri 8/3/18 1:56 PM

St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Luke Gregerson (shoulder) will see Dr. James Andrews next week for a second opinion on his shoulder impingement. Gregerson just hasn't been able to stay healthy this year, and when he's pitched he's been bad. He has a 7.11 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 12 strikeouts over just 12 2/3 innings for the Red Birds in 2018. It might be a surprise if he makes it back to close out the season.

Luke Gregerson Likely Done for The Season rotoballer.com Tue 7/31/18 8:18 AM

St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Luke Gregerson (shoulder) was placed on the disabled list earlier this week with a right shoulder impingement. It's the same issue that forced him to the DL earlier in the season. He also missed time with a strained hamstring and knee surgery. Gregerson holds a 7.11 ERA over 17 appearances with the Cards this season. St. Louis has shut him down indefinitely, so his 2018 campaign is likely over. Fantasy owners should go ahead and look elsewhere for bullpen help[...]

Carlos Martinez Activated, Luke Gregerson to DL rotoballer.com Mon 7/30/18 12:24 PM

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez (oblique) has rejoined the Cards rotation after missing nearing two weeks with a strained right oblique. Martinez will draw the start against the Rockies on Monday. Relief pitcher Luke Gregerson (shoulder) has been placed on the 10-day DL. Lefty Chasen Shreve who was newly acquired by the Cardinals will be added to the active roster. Shreve isn't worth adding in fantasy leagues, but Martinez is worth starting on Monday.

Luke Gregerson Back From DL, Luke Weaver Sent Down rotoballer.com Fri 7/13/18 8:42 AM

St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Luke Gregerson (knee) was activated from the 10-day disabled list on Friday, and starting pitcher Luke Weaver was optioned to Triple-A Memphis. Also, reliever Tyler Lyons (elbow) was activated from the DL and John Brebbia was sent to Memphis. Gregerson has thrown only 8 1/3 innings this year due to various ailments, but he could return to a key setup role for the Cardinals if he's healthy. Weaver went 5-8 with a 4.72 ERA, 1.32 [...]

Luke Gregerson Could Come Off DL Soon rotoballer.com Tue 7/10/18 6:26 PM

St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Luke Gregerson (knee, shoulder) could rejoin the Cardinals soon after pitching on back-to-back days for Triple-A Memphis on Sunday and Monday. "Physically, I feel pretty good," Gregerson said. "I've been getting a lot of positive results on the mound. I'm pretty much where I need to be." So far it's been a lost season for Gregerson, as he sports an ugly 8.64 ERA, 1.32 [...]
