Since the beginning of August, Campusano has slashed .163/.268/.224 with three RBI across 56 plate appearances. He'll now head back to the minors in order to get back on track, officially moving Elias Diaz into the No. 2 catcher spot behind Kyle Higashioka. Campusano went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored while also drawing a walk in Saturday's win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Campusano drove home San Diego's second run of the game on a groundout in the top of the second and then came around to score himself in the fourth after recording a two-out single. The catcher would later top off his night with a solo homer in the eighth, giving him his eighth long ball of the season and his first in the month of August. Campusano reached four times in the contest and he's now posted multiple hits in five of his last 10 starts. Over that stretch he's batting .323 (11-for-34) with two homers, six RBI and five runs scored.

Campusano went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Campusano opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning and sparked another rally with his solo shot in the fourth. The catcher has seen limited playing time since returning from a thumb injury in early July, going 7-for-23 (.304) over eight games since July 6. He's at a .241/.284/.390 slash line with seven homers, 37 RBI, 29 runs scored, 13 doubles and no stolen bases across 74 contests this season.

Campusano went 1-for-1 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 6-3 loss to Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Campusano entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh and took A.J. Minter deep for a two-run blast to make it a 5-3 deficit for the Padres. The long ball was his first hit in eight at-bats since being activated from the injured list July 5 and was his sixth homer on the year. Campusano has started just two games since his activation and will need to recapture his form from 2023 if he is to earn a larger role. The 25-year-old backstop is slashing .230/.276/.376 with 19 extra-base hits, 33 RBI, 26 runs and a 14:29 BB:K in 228 plate appearances.

Campusano is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Since being activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Campusano has started in just one of the Friars' ensuing five games. He appears to have slid behind Kyle Higashioka on the depth chart at catcher, though both backstops will be out of the lineup Wednesday while No. 3 option Brett Sullivan gets the nod behind the dish.

Campusano isn't in the Padres' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Tuesday will mark the third time Campusano has missed a start behind the plate since being activated from the injured list Friday. Kyle Higashioka, who has been on a hot streak recently, will once again start at catcher and bat ninth.

The Padres reinstated Campusano (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
A bruised thumb has kept Campusano on the IL since June 22, though he's managed to go 2-for-15 with four RBI in four rehab games at Single-A. He'll take a seat Friday while Kyle Higashioka catches for Randy Vasquez, but Campusano is slated to return behind the plate Sunday.

Campusano (thumb) will be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Campusano has been on the injured list since June 22 due to a left thumb injury and has played in four rehab games with Single-A Lake Elsinore, going 2-for-15 with a homer and four RBI. The 25-year-old backstop said he will resume catching for the Padres on Sunday, per Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune, at which point he could take over for Kyle Higashioka as the Friars' primary backstop. Campusano has slashed .234/.282/.371 across 220 plate appearances this season.

Campusano (thumb) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his first rehab game with Single-A Lake Elsinore on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Campusano has missed just over a week of action with a thumb injury, so he shouldn't need too many rehab at-bats before being activated. Kyle Higashioka is coming off an eight-homer June, so it's possible Campusano -- who has just a .588 OPS since May 1 -- will play second fiddle at catcher for the Padres upon his activation.

Campusano (thumb) was placed on the injured list Saturday but isn't expected to miss more than 10 days, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports
EDGE Analysis
Campusano was scratched from Friday's game and held out of Saturday's contest with left thumb soreness, an injury that will require a stint on the IL. While the Padres don't expect the injury to last beyond the minimum 10 days, Brett Sullivan will take Campusano's place on the active roster. Kyle Higashioka should get most of the catching work, though.
