Lucas Duda may be moved to right field full-time for evaluation purposes. Duda has played first base following the injury to Daniel Murphy, but assuming Ike Davis is healed from his ankle injury, they envision him in right field next season. If the Mets push him out there full-time, that means we will likely see some combination of Nick Evans and Mike Baxter at first base. Neither are appealing options in fantasy leagues.

Lucas Duda went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks. Duda has been playing every day and batting in the middle of the order since the Carlos Beltran trade. He's now hitting .315 with two homers and nine RBI in 12 August games, forcing NL-only leaguers to take notice. Remember that Duda had four homers and 12 RBI over his final 55 at-bats of last season. There's power here.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Monday that Lucas Duda is the leading candidate to replace Carlos Beltran if (or when) he is traded before the deadline. This shouldn't come as a major surprise. Duda, 25, is batting .280/.351/.441 with one home run and 14 RBI over 134 plate appearances this season and is certainly deserving of a longer look. This would be a good time to stash him in NL-only leagues if he's still available.

Batting fifth for the Mets on Monday evening, Lucas Duda went 0-for-2 with two walks as the Amazins could manage just three hits in a 4-1 loss to the Marlins. Yes, Duda was batting fifth. With Carlos Beltran battling an apparently intense case of the flu and Jose Reyes sill not yet ready to return from his hamstring injury, the Mets ran out a lineup that could politely be described as "below average" this evening. Now batting .248, Duda has zero home runs and 13 RBI this season.

Lucas Duda went 4-for-5 with three doubles and four RBI in Saturday's 14-5 win over the Rangers. A monster game for Duda. He had two-run doubles in the third and sixth innings. His four hits and four RBI both represent career-highs. With Ike Davis on the shelf indefinitely, he could get more at-bats at first base against right-handed pitching moving forward. He's worth a flier in NL-only formats.

Mets legend Tom Seaver gave the struggling Lucas Duda a pep talk on Sunday. "He told me to take it easy, have fun and exhale and remember you're playing a game," Duda said. The 25-year-old left-fielder started 3-for-9 after his June 10th call-up, but since then has only one hit in 13 at-bats, including an 0-for-1 effort in Sunday's pinch-hitting appearance. With Jason Bay struggling, the Mets desperately need a big bat in the middle of their line-up. We'll see if Seaver's advice helps Duda meet that need.
