Gilbert (7-9) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks over 6.1 innings as the Mariners fell 5-3 to the Pirates. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander delivered his third straight quality start and MLB-leading 20th of the season on 96 pitches (58 strikes), but it took a Cal Raleigh throwing error on a stolen-base attempt by Michael Taylor in the fifth inning to keep him under four earned runs. Through three outings in August, Gilbert has posted a 1.86 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB through 19.1 innings, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road next week against the Dodgers.

Gilbert (7-8) earned the win over the Mets on Saturday, hurling seven shutout innings while allowing three hits and one walk. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Gilbert didn't allow a runner to reach second base over the course of his seven shutout frames, posting three 1-2-3 innings on the night while generating 15 swings-and-misses. It marked the right-hander's fifth outing this season in which he's hurled at least seven scoreless innings and the second in his past five starts. Gilbert has also surrendered one run or fewer in four of his last five outings, posting a 34:2 K:BB over that stretch.

Gilbert (6-8) took the loss Sunday against the Phillies, allowing one run on four hits while striking out seven over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gilbert surrendered a leadoff home run to Kyle Schwarber and went on to cruise from there. He struck out the next three batters in the opening frame and would retire nine of the next 10 hitters he faced through the third inning. Despite another impressive effort from Gilbert, he lost the pitcher's duel to Zack Wheeler, who blanked the Mariners through eight innings, leaving Gilbert with his third consecutive loss. Still, Gilbert posted his 18th quality start of the year, which puts him in a tie with Corbin Burnes for the most in baseball. Gilbert owns a 3.05 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 143:26 K:BB in 147.2 innings and will look to change his fortunes in a meeting with the Mets over the weekend.

Gilbert (6-7) took the loss Monday against the Red Sox, allowing seven runs on seven hits over 2.2 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Gilbert got through the first two innings clean and then proceeded to allow all seven of his runs with two outs in the third before being pulled. The 2.2 innings is his shortest start of the season and his shortest since 2021. The seven runs allowed are his second most this season, he also allowed four extra-base hits, which is tied for his most in any start in 2024. This can be chalked up to a bad night for the 27-year-old, as he entered Monday with a 1.85 ERA in his previous seven starts.

Gilbert (6-6) took the loss to the Angels on Tuesday, allowing five runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out eight over 6.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gilbert retired the first 12 batters he faced before things completely unraveled in the fifth. He allowed three base hits in the inning, and two throwing errors played a part in the Angels tacking on all five of their runs in the frame. Still, it was his third straight start of more than six innings, a span during which he's compiled a 24:2 K:BB in 21.1 innings. Gilbert only has one win over his last five starts despite posting four quality starts over that timeframe. He now has a 2.72 ERA (fifth lowest in MLB) and an 0.86 WHIP (lowest in MLB) to complement a 132:26 K:BB in 139 innings and lines up to face the Red Sox on the road to begin next week.

Gilbert tossed seven scoreless innings Sunday against the Angels, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out nine. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Gilbert was magnificent once again and had another strong start wasted by the bullpen. Gilbert exited with a 2-0 lead that vanished in the eighth inning after two walks and a three-run homer by Jo Adell put the Angels in front for good. Sunday was the fifth time this season that Gilbert did not allow a run in a start and his nine strikeouts tied a season high. The 27-year-old will head into the break with a 2.79 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 124:25 K:BB in 132.1 innings. Since he pitched Sunday, Gilbert will not be available to throw in Tuesday's All-Star Game.

Gilbert (6-5) got the win Tuesday over the Padres, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over 7.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
All three runs against Gilbert came at the tail end of his outing. He allowed a solo home run to Jake Cronenworth in the seventh, and Kyle Higashioka added on with a two-run blast in the eighth to force Gilbert's exit from the game. Tuesday was just the third time this year he's allowed multiple home runs in a start, but also was the first time this season he's picked up a win while allowing more than one run. The 27-year-old recently was named an All-Star for the first time in his four-year career, and rightfully so, as he sports a 2.94 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 115:25 K:BB in 125.1 innings so far. He lines up for a Sunday start against the Angels this weekend before the league heads into the All-Star break.

Gilbert (5-5) took the loss against the Orioles on Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks over 5.1 innings while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Three of the four runs charged to Gilbert came across in the third inning when he walked two of the first four batters he faced, and he then surrendered three consecutive two-out hits. The right-hander gave up a solo shot to Ryan O'Hearn in the fifth, marking the first time he's given up four or more runs in his last six outings. Gilbert had gone at least six innings in nine consecutive starts coming into Wednesday's loss, while the three walks were the most he's issued since May 14 against the Royals, which covers a span of nine starts.

Gilbert allowed two runs on four hits and struck out three without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Gilbert had posted back-to-back starts of eight shutout innings, so this was a small step back. It was an improvement on his previous start versus the Twins, in which he allowed a season-high eight runs over four innings in Minnesota on May 9. Since that start, Gilbert has completed at least six frames in each of his last nine outings, earning eight quality starts in that span. He's at a stellar 2.72 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 102:21 K:BB over 112.1 innings across 17 outings this season. Gilbert's lined up for a tough matchup versus the Orioles in his next projected start.

Gilbert (5-4) earned the win over Miami on Saturday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out six batters over eight scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gilbert's superb stat line was just a tad less impressive than in his previous outing, when he allowed two hits and struck out nine over eight scoreless frames against Texas. The right-hander has been on a roll throughout June -- he's tossed four quality starts in four outings this month while posting a 1.21 ERA over 29.2 innings. Perhaps most impressive is Gilbert's 28:1 K:BB over that span.
