Liam Hendriks allowed one run in five innings but took the loss against the Royals on Wednesday.
Hendriks, 24, fared better Wednesday than in his first start but took his first loss of the year. Hendriks allowed just a solo home run to Billy Butler in the first inning. He'll try for his first win on Tuesday against the Angels.

Liam Hendriks (hand) is scheduled to throw in the bullpen Thursday.
Hendriks left Tuesday's game after he was hit in the hand by a comebacker, but it's not a major concern. He's still in the mix with Cole DeVries for the final spot in the Twins' rotation.

Liam Hendriks is day-to-day with a bruised right hand.
Good news. Hendriks left Tuesday's game after he was hit in the hand by a comebacker, but it doesn't sound like a big deal. The 23-year-old right-hander is competing with Cole DeVries for the final spot in the Twins' starting rotation.

Liam Hendriks exited Tuesday's Grapefruit League game after being hit by a comebacker.
No word on the exact nature of the injury, but Hendriks was shaking his pitching arm as he was walking off the field. The 23-year-old right-hander is a candidate for the Twins' final rotation spot, so the hope is that it's nothing serious. Cole DeVries is also in the mix.

Liam Hendriks held the Yankees to an unearned run and a hit over four innings in the Twins' 6-1 victory Thursday.
It was the best outing for Hendriks this spring, but it's probably a case of too little, too late. Since he's been outshined by both Sam Deduno and Cole De Vries, he's most likely Triple-A bound.

Liam Hendriks struggled once again in a losing effort against the Red Sox on Friday, surrendering three runs on five hits over his four innings.
Hendricks struck out two without walking a batter. He came into camp competing for a spot at the back-end of the Twins rotation, but has posted a disappointing 6.00 ERA and has allowed four homers in 15 innings this spring. If Mike Pelfrey and Scott Diamond are healthy enough to start the season in the rotation, Hendriks will likely be forced to Triple-A.

Liam Hendriks surrendered three homers and four runs in three innings against the Pirates on Sunday.
Those homers were the only hits he allowed, and it should be noted that the wind was blowing out to left. Still, the home run ball is a big problem for Hendriks, something that may prevent him from making it as a back-of-the-rotation guy. He gave up 17 in 85 1/3 innings for the Twins last season.

Liam Hendriks scattered four hits over three scoreless innings Thursday in the Twins' 7-1 win over the Orioles.
Hendriks' rotation chances would be boosted if either Mike Pelfrey or Scott Diamond needs to start off on the DL. He may get a spot regardless if he keeps putting up zeroes.

Liam Hendriks recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow.
It's not ideal, but obviously could have been much worse. Barring a setback, Hendriks should be ready to roll for spring training. The right-hander posted a 5.59 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 2012 and will likely compete for a rotation job next season.
