Rivas was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Rivas was optioned back to the minors May 20 after struggling to see consistent playing time, but he'll return to the big leagues following the placement of Dylan Moore on the paternity list. Rivas could share time at the keystone with Ryan Bliss over the next few days until Moore is back with the team. Bliss will draw the start at second base Monday night.

Rivas went 1-for-2 with a triple and a run in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie, who was just called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, finally had a chance to pay off his eight-plus season of toiling in the minors in his first big-league plate appearance by ripping a three-bagger in the third inning. Julio Rodriguez subsequently plated Rivas with a single, and the latter also rounded out his successful debut by making several impressive defensive plays, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. Rivas' stay with the big-league club should have a good chance to last through J.P. Crawford's (oblique) stay on the injured list, at minimum.

The Mariners selected Rivas' contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Rivas has slashed .308/.422/.462 with two home runs, five steals and a 13:11 K:BB over 18 games this season with Tacoma. The 26-year-old has prior professional experience at all spots of the infield and outfield but was used only at shortstop at Tacoma. He could get some reps at the position with J.P. Crawford (oblique) landing on the 10-day injured list Thursday, though Dylan Moore will likely be first in line to replace Crawford.
