Trading Up: Mid-Tier and Bargain Buys (Pitchers) rotoballer.com Mon 7/16/18 3:30 AM

This article is the third in our series on trade targets for the second half of the season. Part 1 focused on players generally ranked in the top 50. Part 2 focused on mid-tier and bargain targets for offense. This installment focuses on pitchers ranked outside the top 50. Part four will focus on players to target for specific categories rather than positional improvement. For these pitchers, I've included both ownership levels and consensus rank (CR) to indicate their current valuation and r[...]

Two-Start Pitcher Streamers for Week 16 rotoballer.com Sat 7/14/18 3:30 AM

With the All-Star break approaching, predicting the two-start pitchers for Week 16 can be tricky. There's one game on Thursday (STL/CHC) and everybody else resumes play on Friday. For those in weekly head-to-head contests, you have an extra three days (four, if you count the lone Thursday matchup) added to your typical week-long matchup. Also, teams tend to reset their rotation back to the top, unless their ace threw in the All-Star Game. Remember, we're trying to pr[...]

Matt Duffy Resting on Thursday rotoballer.com Thu 7/12/18 2:49 PM

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Matt Duffy (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Minnesota Twins. It's a rest day for Duffy, so Daniel Robertson will bat second and fill in at third base against righty Kyle Gibson. Robertson does not exactly scream "great DFS option", but with Jake Bauers and Wilson Ramos batting behind him, he should get some pitches to hit. Robertson is a sleeper candidate for DFS contests on Thursday.

Kyle Gibson (SP, MIN) - Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups rotoballer.com Sun 6/24/18 11:24 AM

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues OWNED IN: 29% of leagues ANALYSIS: Judging by his ownership rate, fantasy owners have been reluctant to embrace Kyle Gibson as a viable option. We're now nearly at the halfway point of the season, though, and Gibson's results continue to impress. Leaving aside his meager two victories, the 30-year-old has been a significant asset thanks to quality ratios (3.25 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) and fanning nearly a batter per inning. He's logged a quality start in eight[...]

Kyle Gibson Doomed By Lack Of Offense, Bullpen On Thursday rotoballer.com Thu 6/21/18 12:39 PM

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Kyle Gibson took his fifth loss of the season Thursday against the Boston Red Sox. The right-hander didn't pitch badly at all, but he suffered under a lack of offense and lack of support from his bullpen. Gibson got into a bases-loaded jam in the top of the fifth inning after a solo home run by Mookie Betts, but prevented any further damage. He pitched six innings, allowed two runs, seven hits, and struck out five batters. Unfortunately for Gibson, the Red Sox [...]
