Bubic (elbow) has been transferred to Triple-A Omaha to continue his rehab assignment.
EDGE Analysis
Bubic -- who is coming back from Tommy John surgery -- has allowed six runs over 8.1 innings but does boast a 13:3 K:BB in his first five rehab starts. Five of those runs came in his last rehab outing at Double-A Northwest Arkansas when he got his pitch count up to 46. There wouldn't appear to be room in the Royals' rotation for Bubic right now, and the club might intend to keep him at Omaha for a while, anyway.

Bubic (elbow) struck out three and allowed one hit and zero walks over three scoreless innings in his rehab start Sunday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
EDGE Analysis
After a trio of rehab outings in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Bubic was shifted to Double-A over the weekend and was unfazed by higher-caliber competition. He needed just 36 pitches to retire nine batters, doing so while allowing just one baserunner. Bubic's 30-day rehab window will come to a close in the first week of June, but the Royals haven't yet decided what role he'll fill once he's activated from the 60-day injured list. While he looks as though he'll get stretched out for starting duty, Bubic could have to settle for a long-relief role if No. 5 starter Alec Marsh continues to thrive in the Kansas City rotation.

Bubic (elbow) will have his rehab assignment transferred to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
EDGE Analysis
Bubic began his rehab assignment at the Royals' rookie level Arizona Complex affiliate May 7, and he'll now advance to Double-A. He made three appearances at the rookie level, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over 3.1 innings. The left-hander has been on the 60-day injured list since February as he has continued to recover from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last April.

Bubic (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with the Royals' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate on Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bubic is working his way back from last April's Tommy John surgery and is finally ready to pitch in games again. It's possible he could be ready to rejoin the Kansas City rotation in early June after his 30-day rehab window expires, but Bubic has minor-league options left and could be sent to Triple-A Omaha if the Royals don't feel he's ready for big-league action once he's activated from the 60-day injured list.

The Royals placed Bubic (elbow) on the 60-day injured list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
A spot on the 40-man roster was needed for new addition Austin Nola. Bubic has begun throwing off a mound but will be sidelined until around midseason while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery.

Bubic (elbow) said he felt good following a 15-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bubic threw all fastballs in the session, his first since undergoing Tommy John surgery last April. He experienced no soreness a day after the session and will get back on the mound again Friday. The 26-year-old is expected to gradually increase the intensity and length of his bullpen sessions over a nine-week period before facing hitters. Assuming he hits no unexpected snags in his throwing program, Bubic could be ready to return from the injured list at some point around the middle of the summer.

Bubic (elbow) is scheduled for a bullpen session Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bubic hasn't thrown off the mound since undergoing Tommy John surgery in April 2023, and the left-hander should be able to return sometime over the summer if there's no major setbacks. Bubic started three games in 2023 prior to the injury and went 0-2 with a 3.94 ERA, 16 strikeouts and two walks over 16 innings pitched.

Bubic (elbow) will throw a bullpen session this week, Jaylon T. Thompson of the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
It will be Bubic's first time throwing off a mound since he underwent Tommy John surgery last April. The hope is that the left-hander will be ready to join the Royals' rotation sometime around the All-Star break.

Bubic (elbow) signed a one-year, $2.35 million contract with the Royals on Tuesday, avoiding arbitration.
EDGE Analysis
Bubic made only three starts for Kansas City last season before undergoing Tommy John surgery in late April, but he'll get a $150,000 raise entering the 2024 campaign, his second year of arbitration eligibility. The left-hander should be able to return to a major-league mound sometime near the All-Star break.

The Royals transferred Bubic (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for reliever Austin Cox, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Omaha. Bubic underwent Tommy John surgery in late April and isn't expected to be ready to return to game action for the Royals until at least the middle of the 2024 campaign.
