Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Kevin Newman (finger) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 9, the team announced on Thursday. In his place, Pittsburgh has recalled infielder Kevin Kramer from Triple-A and he will join the team immediately in Chicago. Kramer is the Pirates sixth-ranked prospect, according to MLBPipeline.
